Journaling:
In 1974 Ronald Defeo murdered his parents &
4 siblings.. The house was put up for sale
and George & Kathy Lutz purchased the house
for a measley $80,000. This is the basis for the
Epic Novel 1977, and subsequent movie that
rocked the horror movie world in 1979. It has
been said this was a hoax, and the only TRUTH
is that The Defeo family was murdered there.
I was just graduating High School when the
Movie came out. I was living on Long Island (NY),
at the time and only about 20 minutes from the
"Horror House". [My Mother being an Ornithology
Expert, and President of the local Bird Chapter, in
1979/1980, had received a call from one of the
neighbors there on Ocean Ave., about an injured bird. She then told my Mother that nothing but the murders ever happened. She said it got busy on Halloween though, due to all the "looky loos" who wanted to see the house.]
Well you guessed it, I was one of those "looky loos" along with my friends - Scott, Lori, Chris
and Jeff, who had to go by on Halloween! It was
"creepy" but that was about it! April 18, 2013 we
went to NY to bury Dad, and my Brother took his Fiance, my Nephew & Nephew's Girlfriend to see the infamous house.
wow! what a cool layout and interesting story to tell! i love the way you've layered up newspaper clippings and photos. and what a fabulous use of elements here!

Looky Loos are everywhere... how awesome to have both photos, and I LOVE the way you've interleaved them with the newsclippings! Fantastic page!
