I found this curiously difficult for something so intrinsically simple.

Journaling:
Christmas has always been my favorite holiday - a time of magic, wonder, with deep spiritual meaning. But “A Territorial Christmas” in Guthrie, Oklahoma was a true family favorite from 2003-2005 when we lived in Norman, Oklahoma. The Home League (the ladies’ group at our church) delighted in a yearly field trip to the beautifully preserved Victorian center of town there. Each store front in the historic district had its own living vignette in the window. Gunslingers and lawmen “fought it out” in the streets. The townspeople who worked in downtown Guthrie dressed the part and horse and carriage rides and the historic trolley cars helped bring the era to life. We always had dinner at Granny Had One, a restaurant famous not just for its food, but also its magnificent embossed tin ceilings, the mural of Victorian Guthrie on its wall, an exquisite quilt and antiques collection - and its Christmas trees hung from the ceiling upside down. Sadly, Granny Had One is closed so our hope of returning for their amazing blackened swordfish, fried green tomatoes, and fried pickles is but a dream. Still, it would be fun to have another Christmas there.
