Veggilicious by Rachel Etrog and Ninigoesdigi
Isn't it so funny how Facebook knows what you're interested in and posts stuff that's related? This turned out great and I'm so glad you have a fun new Veggie kit to use from our new designers! :) Thanks for playing along!

I am in awe of you and your vegan lifestyle. I have been a vegetarian since 1989. I tried vegan years ago, but I couldn't get past not eating cheese or having a bit of honey or eating eggs. BTW, your memes are cute. I couldn't eat a pig, aka pink dog, either.

@mcurtt It has been a long journey and I'm not 100% vegan yet. Strict ethical vegans would say it's black and white and that I can't even use that label. But I'm mostly just using it to make communication with waiters and reading labels easier. I came to it first for health. Secondly for environmental reasons. I've only come around to the ethical animal rights reasons over the last year. I actually bought some locally produced honey at my farmers market last summer and intend to finish it. I prefer maple syrup though and keep forgetting about the honey. Also, I forget to check labels sometimes and have eaten bread and cookies with egg in them. I just say, "Oh, well, good thing I'm not vegan yet" (kind of sarcastically because I've been reading a lot of rants from angry vegans on Facebook).

Eggs were the animal food that was hardest for me to stop. I had such a strong routine for about 8 years of having scrambled egg burritos for breakfast every day. But last spring I just kept adding more and more veggies and beans to them and finally, at the end of May, I just stopped putting eggs in them. I also learned how to make fridge oatmeal. I love it more as a means to eat lots of berries than for the oatmeal, but since I don't mind eating it cold, it's a wonderfully easy and convenient source of great nutrition.

As for cheese, I had to give it up for good by 2008 because I'd become lactose intolerant. Which happened because I'd stopped eating dairy and other things from 2004 to 2006 while breastfeeding my middle child with multiple allergic. It took many months to make myself give it up. Especially pizza. But I finally chose avoidance over the awful effects of dairy on my digestion. So I had over a decade of being dairy-free before I even started considering veganism and already learned all about diary alternatives. Over the last decade, I've enjoyed many cheeseless pizzas.

I haven't eaten meat other than fish for a whole year and I haven't had fish for a few months.

I will never be one of those angry vegans. But I do seem to like to talk about it. :giggle

@michelepixels In my A-Z book for the letter K, there was one entry and it was kindness, why I was a vegetarian...
to the environment,
to the animals,
to myself.

I hear you, I believe we are kindred spirits.
