Oh... the photo albums, I have tons of photo albums and I have attempted at numerous times over the years to scan them, I bought this $500 photo scanner just to do this, but it's so tedious... still takes time. I too hope to scan a bunch of photos next time I head to my folks house. Love the layered look of your layout... and that bookshelf... Oh my gosh... so many memories.
What a treasure that would be to get your mother's photo albums. I do hope that your children will enjoy the books of memories that you have made over the years scrapping.
