Thankyou for the great tutorial. I went to create an art journaling page for week 2 prompt for this month and thought a photo of my granddaughter swirling inks for artwork would work for that and then had the brain wave... why not turn the photo into a sketch. I really like the result and know for sure I will be creating more such photos in the future.
Didn't expect to finish with the page I ended up with, but my friend was on my mind, and even though I started with a different positive image in my head, it turned out with me crying.
Hmm I think the key is getting to know the best photo to start with, something I've not quite figured yet! I was trying to get more texture in to mine so I added some cross hatching with one of the filters in PSE. Not overly convinced on the result this time around but I need to play catch up with other challenges. I do love the effect when done right so I am going to try more when time is on my side. Thanks for the instructions and additional links for pse users.
There are so many fantastic pages here. Need time to look at them all properly !I am hoping this is ok. it is a bit pale, but every time more colour is added I think it looks bad, but like this I like it. I might try to do another one before Moc is over, but at last this should be ok ,if I do not have time...
Thanks for the challenge, Farrah! I was a bit nervous about this one because I just don't do it often, or really at all. But I LOVE how my page turned out. Thanks for the push out of my comfort zone!
So awesome! I was a little intimidated at first but once I did it I realized there was no reason to feel that way! Really fun technique and I'll definitely be doing it again. I love @AnneofAlamo's idea of creating an action for it. Also, I think it would be fun to scan kids artwork and then turn it into a sketch!
