Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am excited to bring you another TLP member spotlight! Ellen has an amazing gallery her at the LilyPad, and I just had to share it with everyone. It is full eye catching layouts. It is fun to see how eclectic her gallery is with so many different styles represented. Lets sit back and take some time to get to know more about Ellen!
Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?
Ellen: Ellent or ehtucker
Jewelle: Where do you call home?
Ellen: Louisville, Kentucky USA.
J: Digital or Hybrid? Both?
E: Digital
J: How long have you been scrapping?
E: I started paper scrapping around 15 years ago when my son was in grade school. I became the Historian for the PTA and kept that job for the next TEN years! Each year I made a scrapbook for the school and I loved taking pictures of the kids. Around 2006, I got into digital and have done nothing else since.
J: What is the starting point for your pages – photos, the story, products?
E: I usually start with the kit and try to find photos that will work. Then I will look for a template that will work with both product and photo.
J: How would you describe your style?
E: Hmm . . I do a little of everything! lol I am known for my clusters, but I also like to do mixed media and pocket style.
J: Any must-have items or techniques on all of your pages?
E: I usually have paint splatters.
J: Do you have a favorite tip or trick you can share with us?
E: Lately, I love playing with apps on my smartphone. I’ll make around three versions of a photo, add all to my page and change the blending modes. You can get some really cool effects. My favorite app to use is called Paper Camera.
J: Do you listen to music while you scrap? What kind?
E: I usually listen to Spotify.
J: What’s your favorite snack (if any) while you scrap?
E: I always have a Monster to drink and maybe some raw cauliflower.
J: What time of day do you feel most creative?
E: Anytime! I have the best designers and I love creating pages with their kits. I have never had a problem with my mojo.
J: Share with us your favorite three layouts that you’ve created:
E: Here is a mix media page:
E: Some of my messy clusters:
E: And some of my pretty clusters:
