Hello! This month Rachel Jefferies has gifted the TLP community with a wonderful template freebie for the May monthly template challenge.
It is perfect just as it is, with lots of mixed media elements and stylized so well, but is also an amazing springboard for customizing to make the template and your page design personalized for your tastes. You can find the template here, free until the end of May, and join in the challenge!
One of my favorite things about templates is that we all have so many different visions and find our own creative voices when we scrapbook and templates allow us to quickly create a layout or take our time to explore and see what different directions we can take with the template. Even though we start with the same baseline, the end result can vary so much, and that is amazing to see! Let’s take a look at what our members are creating this month with Rachel’s template.
I love what Jenn did with the template with a few element changes to create this beautiful page.
I went in a bit of a different direction, by duplicating and rearranging some layers, and using the background as a base for a larger photo with the template elements to serve as homes for more elements.
And in perusing the forum thread for the May template challenge, I found so many great ideas from our members in how they personalized the template – it is a awesome to see the creativity in our community! Here are a few that caught my eye with some unique twists on the template.
I love the colors and vintage feel Cinna created on this layout:
AnotherAmanda’s layout immediately caught my eye with their large background photo and using the template frames as a home for journaling:
Dotcomkari’s take on the template terrific and I love how they flipped the template and used the photo frame to house the photo extractionL
Nemi had another awesome large background photo and used the template as an element for their layout:
Be sure to check out the forum thread and see all of the ways our community is interpreting this month’s template challenge and I’d love to see your take on it!
