Hey there TLP fans! It's Katrina and I have a FUN technique for hybrid scrapbooking! The other night, Cheryl from Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs hosted a live chat/scrap for the Pad. I had a little time to jump in and watch and I am so glad I did. She was using her new template, Blooming (Dressed Up) for her layout. I already have the template, so I was curious to see what she was going to do with it. I love her style to begin with, so I knew it would be something fabulous. After watching here is my layout that came inspired totally from her video chat! Video is at the bottom of this post, if you are interested in watching it!!!See those die cut flowers? Well, in her chat, she misted those for her digital layout with a misting brush. Which got me to thinking and talking in the chat with Courtney about a project. hmmm...wonder if I could do that with hybrid? Everyone was … [Read more...]
Hybrid Easter Cards-Stepping Out of Your Box
It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13 sharing some hybrid Easter cards here on the blog today. I am going to be truthful, I was going to do some fun little treat bag toppers, but then I thought of the candy I would need to by (meaning need to eat after bringing it home) and decided to do cards instead!I started a topic over in the Scrapping Pad in the forum asking if people gravitated toward different designers. It turned into quite a discussion, so I decided that it would be good for me to step out of my box that I talked about and try a few different things! I choose four designers from the store that had some fun Easter products that I did a search for under the holiday category. Amy Wolff, Bella Gypsy Designs, Allison Pennington and Just Jaimee. Just Jaimee is the only one that I am usually drawn too, even though I do like the others, they aren't my go to style. BUT the Just … [Read more...]
Happy Pi(e) Day-Use that Pie Chart!
Happy Pi Day, or as I like to call it Pie Day! It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13, back after a short absence to share a hybrid layout with you today. When I saw that 3.14 or Pi Day was open for a blog post, I jumped on it. I knew exactly what I wanted to do and it DIDN'T have to do with math!Pie charts are fun elements to incorporate into your scrapbooking pages, whether digital or hybrid. For my layout today I used a template from FiddleDeeDee Designs called Piece of the Pie (Dressed Up). This is a great place to start with pie charts if you aren't used to working with them. There are so many things you can do, but I honestly kept my pie chart pretty darn simple!I print my papers thru Photoshop on my wide format Epson printer. This also allows me to resize the original files down to 6x6 square and then print four prints on one page in a smaller scale. Even if you don't have … [Read more...]
Hybrid Boo Banner with Bella Gypsy Designs
It's Katrina or kathunt13 giving you a fun and quick idea for a Halloween decoration that you and your kids could complete together. Did I mention quick?! I am a sucker for banners to decorate with. Plus I love to create them, so bonus! Have you seen the Halloween category in the store? There are LOTS of fun goodies in there on sale. I picked up the Bella Gypsy Wicked Cute Bundle to work with and I am in love with all the color, patterns and elements. We also have a fun Halloween Bash going on in the forum. You can find it HERE.So this was so simple to make. I actually used my Silhouette with the print and cut feature, along with pulling in patterns and filling shapes, but you can easily do this just printing out and cutting by hand. This took me about an hour to do and that includes figuring out what I wanted to use! This would be so cute on your front door, on a mantle … [Read more...]
Simplifying Planner Decorations
Hey all! Polly Jewelle back with another quick planner tip! Today I want to expound on how to simplify your planner decorations, specifically when syncing two planners. Today I have 3 tips for simplifying your decorations. Use one kit - Kit does not mean scrapbooking kit. I'm using the term kit to loosely mean one set of supplies. I create a mini planning kit for myself each month using kits from The LilyPad Designers. Within this kit I make sure I have elements that will fit in both my planners. A simple way of doing this is to simply resize what you have made for the larger planner. Now what ever you use in one planner matches in the other planner. They "go" together! This month I used Classic Boo 2 by Forever Joy Designs. I also used Spooky Street, Halloweenies 2, We Be Pirates, and Zombeenies by Kate Hadfield. Can you see my two different sizes of labels, ghosts, … [Read more...]
Using Photo Templates in Hybrid Scrapbooking
It's Polly katrinahunt13 here on the blog today sharing another hybrid project with you! Yes, I want you to get excited about hybrid and at least try it!One of the things I envy with digital scrapbooking is the way you can get so many pictures on a page and they look good and not cluttered! As I was looking at the BYOC for October (psst....go now and look at it, it's AMAZING!) I saw some photo collage templates by Paislee Press. As soon as I saw them, I knew they would be great for a hybrid scrapbooking page!I just fell in love with the Addendum|Collage templates when I saw them and I knew they would get lots of use in my hybrid world. They are super easy to use for a beginner Photoshop girl like me, which I loved. If you know how to do clipping, you are set! Open the template in Photoshop, drag in your picture and clip to the photo area that you want it in. I wanted to use … [Read more...]
