I love playing around with ink and stamps and that is one of the reasons I love hybrid scrapbooking. You can easily download your scrapbooking kits, play around with them on the computer and then print what you want to use. A little bit of cutting and gluing, and you have a quick layout that is easily personalized to your style, without making trip to the store or waiting several days for something to arrive in the mail! I love to mix my digital elements and papers with inks and stamping and my own handwriting, which can make the layouts feel more personable and hopefully one day, more nostalgic. This month I used the Memory Pocket's Monthly: Wicked kit to create a couple of traditional 12x12 layouts and a few pages in a blank journal. I loved the color palette, and was so excited when I noticed that it complimented several of my ink pads so nicely! I have a large stash of inks and … [Read more...]
Pick A Kit For Hybrid
Hey there! It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13 from the forums sharing a hybrid layout with you today. I thought I would ask the creative hive of minds over on the Scrapping Pad Forum what kit they would like to see worked up into a hybrid layout. I had four people answer and all the kits were great choices and ones that I had considered before I posted the question! And here is what I ended up creating and what I created with!!! It is Just Jaimee's Like A Boss Storyteller Add-On for May. There were two pad peeps that picked the kit, Jan (IntenseMagic) and Jennifer (LittleKiwi). Although, Jennifer listed a different kit, but she was going to say this one, so it counts as a vote! The kit worked out perfectly for scrapping about something I have been working on, my own YouTube channel for paper and hybrid scrapping! I have been so scared to even attempt doing a video, but … [Read more...]

You Don’t Need Fancy Equipment for Hybrid!!
Hey pad fans! It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13, today to talk to you about hybrid. Now, I know some of you digital gurus are set on your digital layouts and not playing with paper! This post is for those that maybe switched to digital scrapping from paper scrapping, maybe you want to sniff some glue (I don't judge!), or it could be you just need to feel the paper and create with it. This post is for you. You don't need a wide format printer! Nope, you can do 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12 without that wide format printer that I use all the time! For the layout I am sharing today, I actually used scraps that I had left over from a previous layout. I printed the Becca Bonneville "Friends Across the Miles" mini kit for another layout that I wanted to do. So, I cut some cardstock down to 8.5 x 11 and used that as my starting point. My printer will print borderless, but I know … [Read more...]
Using Cut Outs As A Mask For Hybrid
Hey there! Katrina, aka katrinahunt13, sharing another hybrid layout with you. I am going to show you how you can use cut outs that you see in the shop for getting artsy on a hybrid layout. Now, I am the first to admit, I love "stuff" on my pages, but I don't go toward the artsy side. After doing this layout, I think I may try it more!I dove into the BYOC for February for this layout. I used the following kits: Hedge Hugs | Bella Gypsy Happy Hearts | Becca Bonneville Olive You Paper, Elements | Allison Pennington and finally Love Cut Outs | Scrapping With Liz. I started by cutting out the LOVE file from my Cameo. After doing this, I realized that I am not limited by "what size the mask or stencil is that I bought" and I can make these any size I want!! How fun is that! I figured out where I wanted the cut out on my page and then used some removable tape to … [Read more...]
Using Template Die Cuts for Hybrid
Hi there pad friends!! It's Katrina, aka katrinahunt13 to share a layout using a digital template, but also making part of it into a cut file. It takes a little practice, but if you do hybrid or are thinking about it, it's quite the fun thing to do. Plus it expands what you can do with your digital supplies.First of all my layout! As soon as I saw this collection of templates, I knew I wanted to do hybrid layouts with them. This is the Big Words Dressed Up by Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs and I loved the big picture in this one. And I used Just Jaimee's December Storyteller Kit|Journal Cards for my "supplies".NOTE: I have a wide format printer, but all of this will work if you size your template down to 8x8 and go from there with your pictures and your die cut.I started by opening the template in Photoshop and clipping my pictures onto the photo layers. I then moved those … [Read more...]
