Day of the Dead Craft Party
by Tangie Baxter
"The Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos or All Souls' Day) is a holiday celebrated in Mexico to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Celebrated on November 2nd, traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts." It might sound a little morbid, if you aren't familiar with the holiday, but it's a major cause of celebration in the Southwest.
TB&CO Team 2015 "party" style workshop is now a self-paced workshop! This is what we'll be making:
In addition to the projects this workshop also comes with:

Junque Journal Workshop
by Tangie Baxter
Junque Journals are composition notebooks turned epically awesome. They hold anything and everything and with a little know how, don't fall apart! They can hold so much "junque" that you collect in your life that you just don't know what to do with! A place for ticket stubs, letters from friends or loved ones, Christmas cards, ribbon from a package, gift cards, receipts, lucky pennies and anything else you might "pick up" along the way and not know what to do with! I've been making Junque Journals for about 10 years, I LOVE doing them! I remember clear as a bell sitting at my computer 5 or so years ago "googling" the term "Junque Journal" not a entry to be found! I uploaded my first EVER videos I had made (my husband was holding the camera steady as it was duct taped to a broom handle) and I recorded 3 videos on my "Junque Journals" to upload on YouTube! It was a sensation and if you google "junque journal" now...it's a whole new world! I'm finally coming back to this project and I hope you'll join me! All NEW videos in HD, lifetime access to the classroom and lots of printable .PDF goodies for you to use in your journals! What you will get with this class:

At the End of My Pen TWO {Workshop}
by Tangie Baxter
We're mixing things up in "At the End of my Pen TWO"--we're going to be using black paper and white pens as a way to switch this up! How this class series started: The power of imagination makes us infinite. A black pen, 21 pieces of white paper, 10 minutes a day. That is all you need to join me on this new adventure!
----------------------------------------------- It would seem that I have every fabulous drawing book there is out there. Opening each one of them you think I'd feel inspired and know where to start! Instead I feel all twisted up inside & decide to forget the whole thing. But what if I drew for 10 minutes a day just because, well I wanted to. Just because I have a pen and a piece of paper? Just because I can and want to. Let go of what you see, of what you can imitate. If you drew & journaled 10 minutes a day, what sorts of amazing little art would come from the end of your pen? -----------------------------------------------
This workshop is a very personal one for me as I used this technique the last few months to deal with huge amounts of stress. Sometimes, we make things so complicated. Sometimes we let art journaling be so overwhelming, sometimes we get in our own way, sometimes we buy too many supplies, sometimes we get hung up on technique, sometimes we forget why we are doing what we are doing. And sometimes we live in fear that we don't measure up to "what others are doing". That is the worst one of all. For two reasons 1) We can only improve our talents by practicing and 2) You are you, they are them. Sometimes we need to accept our talents and abilities for what they are, not what they aren't! This isn't a drawing class, this a a doing class. This is about finding out what lives at the end of our pen, for just 10 minutes a day. This is about letting go of excuses. This is about being brave enough to find out what we are capable of and accepting that glorious discovery for what is is, instead of thinking about what it isn't. What you get with this workshop:

YOU CAN DO THIS CLASS AS A CONTINUATION OF THE FIRST CLASS ON WHITE PAPER IF YOU PREFER. ----------------------------------------------- If you missed the first class it's now available for self-study: |
