Have you ever experienced moments in life where words fail to capture the depth of your emotions? This is 'Yūgen', an important concept in traditional Japanese aesthetics meaning and having 'an awareness of the Universe that triggers emotional responses too deep and powerful for words'.

And this, is exactly how I have felt my whole life whilst 'forest bathing'. This is a Japanese practice - a process of relaxation; known in Japan as shinrin yoku. The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply can have a profound effect on our health, well being and stress levels.

You maybe wondering what the other phrases in this collection mean, Komorebi - Sunlight leaking through the trees and Ikigai - something that brings pleasure or fulfilment, It's a concept that encourages people to discover what truly matters to them and to live a life filled with purpose and joy, iki meaning to live and gai meaning reason.
