Good morning everyone! Tiki here. Cooking has been on my mind lately so I thought it would be fun to have a poll. In my family, I have 2 little boys and 1 bigger boy (namely my husband). They are all very picky. It’s not unusual for me to cook a meal and have them all turn their nose up at it and refuse to eat it. There isn’t enough sauce, the meat is not tender enough, they don’t feel like chicken, yada, yada, yada. It’s tiring. Well, I finally had enough and have been on a cooking strike for the last 2 weeks. They have had to muddle through with cereal, oatmeal, and various frozen fun. I never cooked growing up. My mom didn’t ask that I help and I guess I never offered. I’m the first to admit that I’m not a great cook. I can relate to Debra on the old show Everyone Loves Raymond. I will look for recipes and follow them to a tee. I do not improvise. I don’t know how frankly. Some recipes work out, some don’t. I do have some OK standbys but my creativity definitely resides on the computer and not in the kitchen. I was brought up to eat whatever was put in front of me. Somehow I’ve failed at instilling those same values in my children. It’s a constant work in progress. So anyhow, I want to know what type of cook you are. Please join in on this fun Wednesday poll.

Well, yay! At least I’m not alone in my “slap-dash” efforts! :)

My boys are the same as yours Tiki. They complain and will even go hungry instead of eating what I fix. (Luckily, my big boy – aka hubby – eats everything!) I’m sticking to it and cooking and offering it to them. They’ll eat when they’re hungry. I just throw a fit once in a while so I feel better about it. LOL!!!!
