Month of Challenges. Just the name brings forth joy in my heart. The first year I participated was a slightly different feeling. Let’s call it terror or maybe fear. I had no idea what to expect and was a a little frightened at the idea of scrapping a page a day for an entire month. Much less a challenge every day! I made it through and now that fear is gone. It has turned into pure anticipation! 31 days of challenges to complete!
One of the best tips that was shared with me early on was find a way to track which challenges you have completed and submitted your page to the thread. There are numerous ways to do this – pen and paper, excel sheets, even just looking at the board! See my face on those threads? That means I’ve replied inside them.
My favorite is to mark that I finished the page and mark that I added it to the thread. Why the two steps? Because there are times I finish the challenge late at night or right before heading to bed. I tell myself I’ll upload it in the morning – but life gets in the way. One year I did a challenge twice because I forgot I had finished the page!
My plan this year is to circle the challenge number on this tracker when I create the layout. Then, after I go back and reread the instructions to make sure I got it all, I will upload my page and color in the challenge. Bonus for you – since I already made the tracker, I thought I’d share with my friends! Simply click on the image below and print it out.
I hope you find a way to track your challenges and join in the fun! No need for fear, just fun. For more tips and tricks, check out these previous Blog Posts – the tips are timeless!
And if you haven’t registered – that thread is here. No pressure, it just makes the ending administration stuff faster.

Thank you for the challenge tracker. I’ve managed simply by by seeing what I post in the forum. My fuzzy memory is telling me we each have a thread where we post our layouts for MOC. But even on the monthly challenges I refer to that little avatar of me to see at a glance which I’ve completed. I just have to make sure I don’t comment in the thread before I’ve posted my layout! Also, I always upload my layout immediately after finishing it, no matter what time it is. But this tracker will make a fun graphic to include on the page I’ll probably make at the end of MOC, summarizing the event. Thank you!
