July Challenges
Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen back again with a look at our new batch of monthly challenges for July. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Style Challenge – The first challenge up for July is the Style Challenge hosted by Ashley (ashleywb). Ashley is challenging you to create a layout in one of my favorite styles, the pocket page style! Here is a gorgeous sample layout that she created:
2. Random Challenge – The Random Challenge for this month is being hosted by Jenn (jk703) and she would like you to create a layout that’s all about the opposites. Your layout must be one of the following: All Big, All Small, All on the Left, All on the Right, Warm/Hot/Filled or Cool/Cold/Empty. Jenn chose to create her fun sample layout with everything on the Right:
3. Template Challenge – The Template Challenge for July is being hosted by Natasha (bcnatty). All you have to do to play along is download the free template made by Becca Bonneville and then create a layout using that fun template. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a great sample layout that Natasha made using it:
4. Photography Challenge – Next up in the challenge lineup for July is the Photography Challenge hosted by Courtney (bestcee). Courtney wants you to photograph anything to do with water this month. Here’s a great page Courtney made showing some dogs playing in water:
5. Scraplift Challenge – Christa is hosting the Scraplift Challenge for July and she wants you to look through one of our newer Pollys, Hanna’s (AKA Vrielinkie) gallery, find a page you love and then create a scraplifted version of that layout. Here is a look at a layout that Christa picked from Hanna’s Gallery followed by her scraplifted version:
6. Journaling Challenge – The next challenge for July is the Journaling Challenge hosted by Heather (HeatherB). Heather would like to challenge you to create a layout that includes journaling about either a Beginning or an Ending. Here is a great sample layout that she created that is about both a beginning and an ending:
7. Inspiration Challenge – The Inspiration Challenge for this month is being hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she would like you to create a layout that includes camera related epherma/elements and also some journaling about what you are focusing on right now in your life OR what you would like to focus on. Here’s Lori’s gorgeous sample page:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge will be hosted and posted by Kayla (keepscrappin) tomorrow, July 7th, when the BYOC Collection for July will be released in the store. The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.

There is your quick peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the July Challenge Pad HERE to get started!
