As a military family who lives far away from our extended family, we look forward to visiting our home state of South Carolina whenever we can! That usually turns out to be every other summer when we’re not moving duty stations. As soon as I saw the South Carolina Cut-Outs by Scrapping with Liz in the store last weekend, I knew I had to use them to make t-shirts for our upcoming visit this summer!
I wanted to share these with you today because it is so easy and lots of fun to make custom t-shirts with any of the cutting files available in The Lilypad store! AND Scraping with Liz has so many great state cut-outs available that you can definitely make your own state t-shirt.
To make your own HTV (heat transfer vinyl) State T-shirt, you’ll need:
- a blank t-shirt
- heat transfer vinyl
- Silhouette cutting machine
- State Cut-Out design (I used the South Carolina Cut-Outs)
How to Make Your Own HTV State T-Shirt:
Import your cut-out design into the Silhouette Studio software, trace and mirror.
Send your design to the Silhouette machine to cut out, choosing heat transfer material, smooth.
Cut with shiny side of HTV down and weed out the extra vinyl.
Use an iron to press the design onto your t-shirt.
Remove plastic from design.

I LOVED making this shirt for our visit to South Carolina this summer!! I’m claiming this one as my own, but I plan to make one for each of my kids as well.

Fun idea! I don’t want to buy a Silhouette machine. Will you take orders? :D I’ve already bought a few of these cut-outs by SwL. :)
