So I just went to bed a few minutes ago...I'm laying there and for some reason it popped into my head that we should prob teach the boys how to open their windows in case there was ever a fire... Then all of the sudden i jumped up and ran upstairs to my office.............

Know why?.........

Cuz I remembered that my glue gun was still plugged in.....

From like 2 days ago when Jessica wanted to decorate headbands!

OMG I feel like the worst parent ever!

Aren't you so glad you had that feeling when you were at home and not when you were like out at the mall or something?
 
Yikes! I did that a couple time with my flat iron when I first started using it. I'd get to work and THEN I'd remember I left it on. Good thing I live 1/4 mile away and could run home to unplug it!
 
i do that with the flat iron too karen. since i don't usually use it, i forget about it. thankfully it has a timed shut-off. that has saved me more than a few times.
 
I forget to blow candles out ALL THE TIME. John end up getting me an electric candle warmer he got so frustrated with me.
 
My iron was left on all day once by my ex-hubby :s and I only notice when I got back home from work...perhaps it just goes to show how busy and over preoccupied we are with other things. Sometimes we need a moment to breathe :D
 
I'm a flat iron culprit too.. Good thing my kids are obsessed with unplugging things before we leave the house so Harper always reminds me to unplug it. You know because I'm such an awesome mom my 4 year old has to remind me haha
 
I've been very fortunate with my flat iron but thankfully DH answers the phone when I call and ask him to go check. I swear, if my head wasn't attached! LOL Glad that you and your family are safe.

I do stuff like that all the time. Just this past Sunday, I left my flat iron ALL day. I discovered it at 11:00 p.m. when I went to bed. 16 hours and I never noticed? Really?!? Oh, well. At least the house is still standing...for now. lol.

oh man, i'm a huge flat iron offender! and i'm in an apartment. so I'm like the worst neighbor... unless you are one of my neighbors. then just kidding.
