windows update " trauma"

It's confusing and upsetting a lot of people, it looks like! But I think that's how it is.

I like win 10. Or used to until this happened. Hoping it was just a glitz. I know I need cloud storage, and backup. Will try this weekend to sort it out.

I only have Win 10 on my laptop and much prefer it to 8. No problems with the update the other day either. I have Win 7 on my desktop and don't want to update there as the computer is pretty old and doesn't have much space left.

My computer refuses to update to Windows 10, and I figure I have another month or two before I have to figure out if I want to it. I don't mind Windows 8.1 though, so it hasn't been an issue for me.

As far as support ending, I think what you may have seen is the support for Windows 8 and 7 ended, but that Windows 8.1 (which is what most Windows 8 computers are on) is still in effect. Microsoft is trying to get everyone on the latest OS - whether we like it or not :headscratch

Still on Win7 here as well........... everything is working perfectly fine so I ain't touchin' it! lol!

I have constant windows update trauma.... I think it only works well on native hardware. OEM installs. My start menu is dead again today. Maybe it's PSE?
