Welcome to another edition of Why it Works, where we share and highlight a page from an awesome scrapper in our gallery that utilizes a really cool technique, a design trick, a photography tip, journaling ideas or any number of other things to get you scrapping outside your comfort zone. We hope to share and inspire you to try something new, revisit an old technique you may have forgotten about, or maybe just approach that blank canvas in a new way.

So, here are some of the things you can do to be involved in this thread if you want to be.
    1. Ohhh and Ahhh over the awesome layout or project that has been highlighted and head over to the gallery and show the scrapper some love.
    2. Learn something new from the tip or tutorial. It's all about becoming better at our craft!
    3. Try the technique yourself and post it in this thread for us to see.
    4. Show off other pages from the gallery that use the technique as well. Be sure to link them so we can give them the love they deserve!
    5. Ask questions about the technique that you may have or tell us how you may do it differently. There are many ways to do these things and this thread is all about the learning!

*note: this is not to be a critique of the page/project in any way, it's all about learning to emulate the awesome technique highlighted. Any negative comments about the highlighted page will be deleted.*

Three is NOT a crowd, three is BALANCE! You know that quote that says:

Believe it NO MORE! In the scrapbook and art world three is BALANCE! Check these few pages that I found in our gallery that prove how 3 pictures are just PERFECT!

The diagonals and lines created with the pictures immediately make me think of this game, so play with us and show us how you can create a 3 picture page!

Yes, Yes, YES! (had to type yes 3 times for this, i agree so much!) I like that with 3 photos you can show more of the story or event and they can still be big enough to see details in the shots but you can also fit product on the page! 2 photos i struggle with more, design-wise - you are so right abut the balance and also the visual triangle thing; 3 just feels right, especially as my pages are based on the photos generally
    Here's some of mine:

I just saw this one by @jaye

What I like about it...Jaye could have easily used four pictures, but using three left space for journaling.

I've been swooning over @KellyM 's pocket page for several days now. I love her color scheme with the yellow. My eyes are first drawn to the photo in the middle. Then my eyes move up and down. The three photos create a visual triangle that lead my eyes throughout this magical page.

I love using three photo spots, one for each of my three children. Or photos showing different perspectives of the same thing.

These pages are gorgeous! Most of the time I end up with only one picture, I'll keep this in mind for my next pages!
    Thanks for sharing!

If I am scrapping with out a template I always end up with one, but for some reason I tend to pick 3 picture templates when looking at templates.

I agree with @cinderella I prefer one photo or no photos... :sorry

But I did manage to find a few of mine with multiple (3 photos).

This one is one of Dawn's challenge templates, but I used a split photo to make up 2 of the spots.
