I am a lover of a fan going in my bedroom. ALL year round. My husband when it gets cold is like, "babe, it is freezing" so I got a noise maker, I use it all winter! last night, the real fan was on. I slept so hard and deep! Do you have a sound that you love to sleep too?
I've slept with a fan on in my bedroom since I was 12. My children have slept with fans on in their bedrooms since birth. #whitenoiserideordie
Silence And now that song is in my head! I don't like any noise at all. When I was younger, I would have a tv or something going, but not now. DH likes to have his iPad playing a movie or audio book when he goes to bed, so I either have to go to bed before him and be asleep when he gets there or after him and turn it off lol I cannot sleep if there's noise.
Oh, Anne, I HAVE to have an overhead fan! I also have a sound machine that I use every night and it has white noise on it. I take it anytime I have to travel, too. "Have noise machine, will travel".
Insomnia was a luxury of my pre-kid self. Now I can sleep anywhere and anytime within minutes. I don't mind noises. For my daughter, since she was 6 mo (now she's 3 yo) we use a "Twinkling Lights Crib Rail Soother" with music, white noise & nature sounds (she prefers music or nature), and if I forget to turn it on and she's not super tired, she has trouble falling asleep.
We have a fan on all year round too, in Winter I aim it away from me. It sure does make the sounds of hubby snoring easier to contend with. Here's to another great night's sleep. White noise and blockout curtaining.
I thought it was brilliant when Brody asked Alexa to play lullabies to fall asleep to. I never would have thought of that! I have her play ocean sounds or nature sounds. Those are my favorites. Also, I usually have the TV or an audiobook playing.
Overhead fan, standing fan in the corner, summertime have a little desktop fan next to my bed AND a white noise machine playing ocean waves all night. The multiple fans started at about age 50
I have ringing in my ears that is heightened by silence - I love summer when we have the excuse to have the fan on all night. My husband likes silence although he falls asleep in minutes...sigh. I listen to podcasts to fall asleep to now - that seems to do the trick...
I'm not good with noises to sleep also, I prefer silence. right now, the wind's whistle is so loud in my windows, this is going to be a long night...lol
Silence. I need silence and absolute darkness to sleep. We have a grouping of portable school classrooms behind our house that run the hvac 24/7, and they keep me up. So, it's earplugs and a face mask for me.
Silence and dark. My hubby likes to watch something on his Kindle in bed but he uses earphones. I just roll over and cover my head to block the Kindle light. But for the last 6 months or so, he has been staying up later than me, so I get to sleep until he comes to bed.
ME EITHER!!!! I do like it when hubster isn't snoring- and just his normal breathing for a few minutes puts me to sleep. Can't usually sleep well if he is not there- too many years! Ahhh yes, the sounds of silence!
I have a hard time falling asleep without the tv on, turned low so I can just barely hear the voices. I usually put on the cooking channel or comedy channel, close my eyes and listen for 10 or 20 min until I fall asleep.
I used to sleep with a fan on when I lived across the street from a bar. Now, it's nothing, but I would have LOVED a noise machine for our recent trip. I might look into that if we ever travel again.
Hmmm... I have a fan, but it doesn't make much noise, just the ceiling version. No other noise. I need it cooler and dark to fall asleep.
