Mine is Panera Bread's chicken noodle soup in their sour dough bread bowl. I bought 3 of the packaged for stores containers at Target the other day and now that i'm sick I was so happy that i didn't have to go out to get it...blahhhhhh - i tastes no where as good as the in store. So what is your favorite soup that you crave when you feel icky?

My mom makes a big batch of her chicken soup with matzah balls in the fall for the Jewish holidays. She freezes it, and I always have a stash in my freezer for sickie emergencies, There's nothing better. And if anyone wants the recipe, I'd be happy to post it.

I call it chicken carcass soup, but my kids groan when I do.
I buy a couple of those rotisserie chickens. Shred all the meat off for soup, and then boil the carcass an hour, for the marrow.
toss in all the chicken, noodles, celery, carrots, peas and whatever else is in the pantry.
I use chicken boulion, but anything that makes broth.
    Boil til noodles are done.
Instant feel better and the house smells so homey and happy!
Put a fire in the fireplace and snuggle.

I don't have a "sick" soup because I eat soup every. single. day. It's like my elixir of life or something :giggle I make a big pot on the weekend and freeze in individual sized containers to bring to work for the week.

I use the chicken from 2 of those rotisserie chickens like Anne, and then throw in whatever I feel like until my giant pot is almost full to the top with meat and veggies. My soups are VERY thick :giggle I don't use bouillon cubes and I'm too lazy to boil the carcass like Anne so I just count on my veggies to flavour the broth. Lots of onions, red peppers, zucchini, butternut squash, cabbage, carrots, celery, green beans. A can of diced tomatoes. And sometimes a big can of crushed tomatoes, which turns the broth all tomatoey :D
Then I might add in some brown rice or quinoa before I freeze it.

Did I mention I *love* soup?

ps: I hope you feel better soon!

I'm also a matzah ball souper. I make it often because I love it so much but especially wen I'm sick. Wes normally cuts the veg and I do the balls. I need to teach him so I don't have to do it when I'm sick. It's the best!

totally, my mum makes the sefaradi version of tomato soup with matzah balls which is what I make these days as my daughter went veggie 3 years ago.... I eat everything when am out, but rarely ever cook meat or chicken at home unless we have guests...but
my soup would be definitely the chicken soup, we call it canja de galhina in Brazil, which means hen's soup, and has rice ans some chopped vegies and ahhhh wonderful.
I would love to have my mum near too....

I love soup so much, too, but when I'm sick I fall back on Campbell's chicken noodle. Needs some Ritz crackers in it, too.

Definitely homemade chicken noodle soup! Mine sounds pretty much like Anne's. I also love my mom's spinach/tomato/smoked sausage tortellini soup :) It's a clear broth soup but has so much flavor!
