I haven't had a breast biopsy, so I don't have any advice specific to that, but my youngest son just had a biopsy of a mole done in June. The procedure for that was so quick! They gave him some local shots to numb the area and he didn't feel a thing. Then they stitched him up and sent us on our way. the WORST part of the whole thing was waiting the two weeks until we went back to have the stitches taken out and to find out the results. The doctor said at the time that she didn't think it looked abnormal and that it would probably be fine, but of course as a mother I still had to worry. It's required, right? He couldn't shower for the first day and had to change the bandaide daily and keep it covered with ointment until the stitches came out. They were itchy and his skin didn't love all the bandaide adhesive, but again, minor inconveniences. I pray that you don't have to wait as long as we did for your results. That part is torture. I also pray for you to get the all clear so you can relax again. Time to find a new show to binge watch and keep your mind off of it while you wait! No free time to think about it for you!
I had a biopsy of both my breasts a few years ago. I don't know how yours is going to be done so I don't know if what I experienced is the same as you will. It didn't hurt but was bothersome nevertheless. If you would like to know more you can always send me a PM.
Dalis, first of all, I hope it goes well. Second, I haven't had a biopsy but my mom has. She said it wasn't bad EXCEPT when the doctor decided to move where he did part of the biopsy; there wasn't any numbing/pain medicine there so she felt it. I doubt that happens often, though. She said post-biopsy was fine (except for the waiting, of course). Hugs hun!
Thinking of you, Dalis, and sending lots of love and hugs. I've never had this procedure, either, but have had an ultrasound. It's the waiting that's the hardest - for any type of procedure. Hopefully, you'll get the results quickly - that's the other hardest part.
First of all Hugs! I've had a needle biopsy and it was easy. They were planning on doing a core biopsy but changed their mind. Either one, you will probably be numbed up and therefore won't feel much. The icky part is the wait!
OMG, I would be even a bigger nervous mess if it was Bianca, so I get it. Any recommendations on Netflix, Hulu or HBO?
I haven't had to have a biopsy, but both my mother and grandmother have and like most have said in this thread, it was the waiting for the results that was the most painful part of it all. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
No experience here- but sister is a survivor/champion . Her story is quite in line with what others have said. I want to give you this: Prayers are with you.
