Weird Like That

bwahhah i'll be back to hand out the straight jackets later on for everyone. :P

OH and in case you needed a tut on how to center your sig here ya go. :giggle

OH and another thing that annoys me is when dh puts the dishes in the dishwasher the "wrong" way.... i have to go in and fix them!

Wow! I really wish I had some of your quirks about the neat and tidy stuff. I mean I like it when my house is clean, but I have NEVER lost sleep over a mess left out. I go through phases where I go about picking up and tidying bit it never ends so I usually give up. I finish picking up one side of the house and by the time I get to the other side it's a mess again. Don't you guys get exhausted by having everything in it's place?

i have more quirks that i can even begin to recount. i'll spare you all of them. there are SO many. some of the ones that come to mind right away though...

i cannot have anything or anyone touching my face. drives me nuts. not even my husband. or if he does, i have to go and wash my face afterwards.

when i'm sitting at a table with someone, i can't have something (i.e. a centerpiece, a ketchup bottle, etc) even a little bit partially blocking my view of them. it WILL be moved if i don't have a full-on direct view of them.

generally speaking, to spare you all the crazy details, anything that's out of place in my house drives me nuts. doesn't always get fixed, but drives me crazy. clothes have to go on the hanger facing the 'proper' direction, things go in a specific place on counters or in drawers, and so on. pillows and throw blankets have a proper place and angle and direction. i'm just a weirdo.

I wanna know how the hell can clothes be facing the wrong way lmao

this is me! but I try not to fix them (it hurts) but he so rarely does it, I don't want to discourage him from helping me hahaha!

I'm with you Karen! My house, unfortunately, is always a mess. I like to think if I were at home, it would be neater, this is prob a delusion but let me have it, k?

I'm in agreement with the clothes hanging the right way. If DH takes a shirt and then changes his mind, he will undoubtedly put it back with the hanger wrong way! To me the curve of the hangers should be facing outward (I can't believe I'm publicly explaining this lol). And I just thought of another thing - it drives me crazy when I see someone wearing pants without a belt, especially jeans. It just doesn't look right to me. I'll take a size medium for that straight jacket, Lauren!

um....yes, yes it does! :P not in a, "i hate that girl" kinda way, just in a "i feel a strong need to fix her siggy" way. *snort*

well good, good to know i can get under your skin! :rofl

and karen, the proper way is when you hang up the shirt, if the shirt is facing you, the hook of the hanger will be facing the left. duh. i thought EVERYONE (except my mother-in-law, who i SWEAR hangs shtuff backwards JUST to erk me) knew that!! :giggle

Oh AND there is a right and wrong way to fold pants and hang them. The inseams have to be matched together. my MIL also does that all bassakwards and it drives me WONKY! gaah!

*lol* i realize what a nutjob i sound like. it's good. crazy is me.

I agree with the clothing facing the same way.

Also.. I need all my money to face the same way! I can't stand it when they are different directions and upside down.

Everything my mother in law erks me,just saying hello does it lately but thats another story ha ha

karen i think it gets 1,000 times worse with a baby in the house. i always felt like there was an undertone of every conversation with my MIL that said 'you're not good enough to raise my son's baby. you're clueless and you NEED me to make sure you're doing everything right.' that was irritating right down to the very core.

good news is we are on very good terms now... now that my 'baby' is six years old. *sigh* i feel for ya!

Things did get better till gabbi came along and now were back to square one again but i just dont know this time amongst other things but hey ho thats my problem still doesn't excuse your coat hangers lol

This thread is cracking me up. My husband is more OCD about the house than I am. I like it clean (germs- ugh- totally phobic) & he likes it picked up (drives him crazy that I can't keep my shoes organized). He used to move the remote controls to all face the same way on the coffee table, etc. Now with the kid it is harder to keep everything all straightened up but neither of us likes knick knack type stuff sitting around so our house is usually pretty clean & picked up thanks to our combined quirkiness.

Wow, you ladies are nuts! :giggle

Only thing I can think of now is that I can't stand other people getting me drinks and/or filling up my glass. I have to do it my self and be sure the glass doesn't get too filled up for my taste.
oh yeah, and people using an x-amount of !!!!!!!!!!!!! in every sentence.

I wish I could be OCD abt cleaning and messes! :giggle

Hmmm... I always have to 'close down' the blending options layers in Photoshop when I scrap. KWIM? When you apply the shadow style, then the arrow flips and you can see that it says 'Blending Option' (or whatever). CAN'T STAND THAT. Makes the layers palette look so cluttered to me.

I always put the shopping cart away. I will purposely drive around the lot until I find a spot next to a cart corral (even if it is far away from the doors) so that I can unload the car and the baby and still put my cart away without being accused of neglecting a dependent. :P

I hate when DH shares my snack(s). He will eat anything that's not moving, so once he grazes through his stash, he will start on mine i.e. 'Can I have xx pieces of candy/popcorn/etc.?' I know it makes me a 5 year old, but I hate sharing with him and will hide my snacks and eat them once he's gone to work. He irritated me so badly a couple weeks ago that I went to the store and purposely bought $10 worth of snacks with gluten in them (he's allergic) so that he couldn't eat any! :giggle

some of you gals are completely nutters!!

I swear, I used to be just like most of you too. I do like the hangers to be facing the right way (just like Rebecca said), I organize my clothes by color and then style within the colors, there can be no clothes on the floor...etc....

BUT...I live in a house with dirty filthy guys. They don't give a rats a** what things look like. They stay up later than me so when I get up, there are dirty dishes on the coffee table and all the pillows are a mess. I finally had to give up being so OCD on things. I don't sweep, mop and vacuum everyday like I used to. I have so many big projects that need to happen in my home so things will not look like I want them to anyway until these things are taken care of.

I'd love to be that OCD, and I can very easily slip back into that. My family is happier when I can take a chill pill though!

Oh...I do travel with my own pillow too. I can't sleep without it.

Lauren - I fixed my siggy for you. :)

I"m like Debra. I'm not too OCD about anything. I have boys and it's just not doable.

As for scrapping irks, it does bother me when someone adds one of my layouts to their favorites without leaving a comment. LOL

HAHA this was such a funny thread to read!!!

I'm the least OCD person you'll ever meet when it comes to my house ... but when it comes to my computer, watch out. Every single photo is labeled by date/name and organized by day/month/year. Layouts are the same.

One weird thing I do is once my plate is in front of me at a meal with food on it, I can't rotate it. I don't care where on the plate the food is, but the plate has to stay in that position the whole meal. If it does get moved for some reason, I have to rotate it back to its starting position before I can eat again. I've been like this for as long as I can remember. LOL

I have a lot of pet peeves regarding scrapping, but I'll keep those to myself. HAHAHA
