It's Saturday mid afternoon. Now, I know it's already evening or Sunday for most of you!
What's happening?
Are you getting those resolutions together?
Are you planning a party for the New Year?
Are you looking forward to a quiet evening at home?

Me? I'm being lazy, hanging on the couch with the dog watching a Harry Potter marathon.

love having HP marathons going. 'Tis the season for my big cheer memory book project so I'm having a marathon session of trying to get as much work done as I can before I head back to work on Tuesday.

I'm 7 hours in for today. Just realized I haven't taken a shower yet. Time to take a break.

I'm trying to keep warm. It is frigid outside and the heat pump does not work so well in this weather. When this house was built, my parents had ceiling radiant heat installed so I don't have a furnace backup. 50+ years later, the ceiling heat is very inefficient and does not heat evenly throughout the house. The kitchen gets too hot and the bedroom side of the house (where my sitting room is) which is the west side of the house does not get warm at all. I have had to turn the heat pump off because it was blowing cold air and I have portable heaters that I use in my sitting room and bedroom... but only when I am in the room. Unplugged if not in use. Now, I hate cold and the warmest I can get the house right now is about 70... which is too cold for me! Next month's electric bill... $$$$.

Other than that, I'm staying inside since we had 4 inches of snow overnight. I didn't even walk to the mailbox today to see if I had any mail. I've done some scrapping and playing games while watching college football games. Gave the dog a bath today as well. So basically, not a whole lot going on!

Saturday evening here. I just sat down after cleaning up the house some and putting some plastic on a couple of drafty windows we have. It's supposed to be single digits overnight for the next week and wind chills tonight to -15. Sigh, I could use a few positive thoughts and prayers for my laundry room water pipes...they freeze easily. I sure hear you on that electric bill @HavaDrPepper!! Last month mine jumped $100 and it hadn't been cold yet. I don't even want to see the next one.

I spent this morning setting up my planners for the first week of the new year and printing some stickers. And now I'm going to hopefully scrap a bit and maybe watch something on Netflix. No New Year party here...I'll probably be doing the same thing tomorrow night :)

My daughter went to my mom's to stay for the long weekend. My husband is at work, so I am hanging out alone (a very, very unusual occurrence). I exercised, watched the end of the Mississippi State - Louisville football game, worked on digital templates to use for Project Life next year, and am now taking a break with a bowl of cereal.

My husband has to work NYE too, but he'll be home early. He wants to go out to an early dinner before all the crazy people are out. I wanted to fix something here at home, but I have procrastinated and have zero plans. We might just go out because it is really rare for us to have date nights. Though, we did go out to dinner last night after we met my mom to drop off our daughter. Two date nights so close together-- I would get spoiled :yesss

Well, today we just drove back from Waterloo to Ottawa, where it is so cold, Justin Trudeau's cancelled New Year's Eve on Parliament Hill. -25C. I don't know what that is in Farenheit, but you know that frozen moon in one of the Star Wars? Pretty much like that. AAAAND tomorrow morning, I'll be at a walk-in clinic. It's a Sunday and NYE, so nothing's open, but Naomi's got a fever of 38.6C.

The tally so far for Christmas 2017 is : 2 kids with strep throat, 1 kid with bronchitis, and 1 kid with a respiratory flu. (I only have 2 kids, btw.) 2 Grandpas with respiratory flus, and I have been able to feel my lymph nodes swelling for the past two days. I truly believe the only reason I haven't fallen yet is that I ate an entire can of pineapple last night. (The pineapple may be a placebo, but it's my placebo and it works).

The best I can say about this holiday season so far is that nobody's died, and nobody's totalled a car (yet). Both those things happened last Christmas.

I always love your cheer books. I need to pick your brain on your process for scrappin these so I can speed up the scrappin on Chase's mission book. I'm so far behind and he comes home in July.

We went grocery shopping. We plan to have our traditional NYE feast. My DH is cooking bbq ribs and steak with several sides. He is also making me my low carb strawberry cake (yum!). I'm going to make low carb cinnamon rolls tonight (trying out a new recipe). We usually watch movies and maybe play board games. We end off with celebrating NYE (sparklers and hats) and do our usual NYE family photo (quick fun shot).

It is unusually warm in our area that people are still wearing summer clothes outside. I even went outside without a sweater or coat which is not typical!

We are still drying out the basement from the water heater going bad and leaking everywhere a couple of days ago. Luckily the carpet is dry and the new water heater is in and working great, but one of the cabinets in the wet bar is still wet. Here's hoping it dries out soon. I really don't want to have to replace it.

On a happier note, we picked up a chick fil-a nugget platter for our NYE celebration tomorrow. It'll just be the four of us here playing games and maybe watching a movie. We may not even have Aspen after dinner, if she gets a better offer from friends. We usually host the girls' friends on NYE, but with the basement torn up to dry out, we nixed that idea.

I've been under the weather for the past couple of days, first with a stomach bug, and now with a cold/sinus infection. I'm not sure which it is. I just know I feel miserable and I can't breathe out of one of my nostrils. I've watched TV, read, hung out with family, worked, etc.

We have leftover fireworks from July, so we'll (um, my hubby will) shoot them off tomorrow night, but probably earlier rather than later. Other than that, we have no huge plans for the evening. Just hanging out. I'm supposed to make loaded potato soup.

On Monday, we'll watch the Alabama game right after my Watch Cheryl Scrap LIVE. Other than that, the day will be filled with more relaxing, I hope. I want to kick whatever this is that I have so I can enjoy MOC!!!

What's happening? At the time you posted this I was finishing up walking around Lewis Ginter Garden Festival of Lights with my friend who I walk with every weekend. We're also both photographers so sometimes (like this evening) we photograph more than we walk. :) It was 7 pm and freezing cold! We had such a warm fall I was wondering if winter would be warm too, but it's feeling more normal at the moment!

Are you getting those resolutions together? Meh, I don't really make them. I feel excited about the new beginning but I don't set goals just because it's a new year.

Are you planning a party for the New Year? Nope. I suggested my kids invite friends over and make it a potluck, so that's happening. We usually count down at midnight here at home and make some noise and then go to bed. This is the first time we've had friends over for NYE.

Yay for Harry Potter marathons! Lately I've been enjoying Call The Midwife on Netflix. Watch my MOC pages for Ginter Garden Festival of Lights photos. :)

It's Saturday night here. Right now it is -27C but it feels like -35C with the wind chill. Overnight it is going down to -32C with a wind chill of -45C (which is the lowest we've had all year). With temperatures like that, we'll be spending NYE indoors and staying warm. Probably play a couple board games (the kids got Rick and Morty's Munchkin for Christmas) and watch a couple Harry Potter movies. Going to be a low-key NYE.

My day was made when I realized that HBO will be gaining the rights and having a HP marathon on January 1st starting at 6am PST (and 9am which sounds more doable to me!). Um, hello first MOC challenge scrapped to Harry Potter!

Now, I hate cold and the warmest I can get the house right now is about 70... which is too cold for me!
I'm sorry! I hate being cold. I swear our thermostat is broken. It sits at the top of the stairs and always says 69. But the computer is downstairs, and I swear it's 60 F down here!

Yuck! You just can't win! We have a lot of flu going around. Enough that people are being admitted to the hospitals with it (mostly elderly and children). It's been uber busy at the hospital with all the sick!

It is unusually warm in our area that people are still wearing summer clothes outside.
I can not talk my son into pants. Except 3 days last week. He insists if the sun is out, it's warm enough for shorts.

I'm supposed to make loaded potato soup.
That sounds delicious!

Sunday morning, 9:45, I’m still in bed. I planned on going running this morning but I’m going to read in bed instead. I have a jigsaw puzzle on the dinner table so I’m going to work on that. Then I’ll run in the afternoon, shower and go to my mom where we’ll spend the night. Cheese fondue, and non-translatable snacks that are typical for old&new. Things will be relaxed and good.

Yup absolutely... I am going grocery today and laundry.. hubby is making Pineapple Ginger Chicken for dinner... I will be taking down the tree and cleaning tomorrow after taking it down. Of course I will be doing my MOC page, and yup re the HP movie marathon!!

Hubby is also making homemade vanilla ice cream today for our Butter Beer floats. I was in Maximillion Book Store on Thursday and they were selling the "Cauldron" Soda, so I bought 2 for us and 1 for my girlfriend's daughters for Butterbeer floats. Amy sent me photos of the girls, so I will definitely be scrapping those for MOC sometime! :)

It's sunday morning now. This weekend is a mixture of trying to reorganise and starting up a planner. My husband's ill so I'm trying to do that and supervise some still over excited children. I thought at 14 my eldest would be past that phase now, but nope...

Sunday morning here, sitting in the dark, alone, sipping tea. I need to take my shower, do some last minute cleaning, go grocery shopping. My brother arrives today for a two day visit, our Christmas celebration a week late. That leaves me behind in MOC before it even begins. My "studio" is also the spare bedroom where dear brother will be staying.

Both me and my hubby will of been sick for 2 weeks come tomorrow ...... sigh. Went from chest cold/flu to starting to feel better for a couple of days to all of a sudden Thursday it went to upper chest and sinus area. Grrrrr! Hate that it is the holiday weekend! Calling the Dr again as soon as I can If I'm not better. With the last round they said what medicines to take and drink plenty of fluids as it was just a virus.

I looked it up. -13 F! That's so cold! I can't even think that cold. Last year about this time we (in Utah) were at 11 F (-11 C) and that was too cold for me!

My weather since the 29th has been:
29th - high of 17
30th - high of 16
31st - high of 12
1st - high of 7
2nd - high of 9
3rd - high of 14
4th - high of 8.

Today's real feel is 13 but after that they are all 0 and below. It all started on Christmas Day with a high of 21 and it is forecasted to not get into the 30's again until the 7th. That's almost 2 weeks of this weather. This isn't normal for us either in Ohio. We are usually in the 30's this time of year. We may have some frigid weather for a few days but never this long!
