My family drove over to a burb of Detroit this weekend to stay at my sister house. Saturday afternoon we drove to Flint and my husband and brother-in-law did a Warrior Dash. It's a 5K with obstacles they had to climb over and under and crazy things like jumping over fire and swimming in a mud pit. It was insane how many people were there! There were crazy/fun costumes too. Many superheroes, guys in tutus, full army garb, etc. I just had to share some of these pictures. I think I may even do it with him next year just because it would be fun to say I did one. Plus, he said he'd stay with me to help me over the obstacles if I needed it. :)

Great photos Karen! I have been wanting to sign up for a warrior dash for some time now - it looks so crazy fun!

I would never willingly go in a mud pit... but it sounds like a fun race to watch! :)

I somehow managed to do it twice without getting my FACE in the mud. LOL. They must have really been into it. ;)

Yeah, everyone else seemed to get under the barbed wire without putting their face into the mud, but my husband apparently was a little skittish about being so close to it and just played it safe. Plus, my 8 YO was right there screaming at him to do it and saying "I'll give you a quarter if you dive in!" It was hilarious!

They do have showers thankfully, but it's more of a spray up into the air to get the majority of the chunks off. We brought towels, blankets and garbage bags though just in case there weren't showers.

We washed up in the parking lot with baby wipes and bottled water. It was hella sexy.

My son wants to do the WD! I think all 3 of our sons are planning to participate together next year. I think I may just try it although I don't know how rough it is but I. Aint. No. Wimp.! :)

I'm seriously thinking about doing this race with them next year. I think it would be fun, but I am worried that I wouldn't be able to do some of the obstacles. I would have to actually begin running again too. Yuck! :giggle I'm no wimp either, but I have pretty sad upper body strength and I'm worried I wouldn't be able to pull myself up and over any really hard obstacles. My hubby said he thought I'd be fine and that he'd stay with me and help me over any I had trouble with. There were LOTS of various people there from young strapping men who were actually in it to win it and then there were 50-60 year old men and women who were able to finish it, so that right there told me I'd probably be just fine. :)

Fun! I did it back in January (which was also 34 lbs ago so I'd love to try it again now that I could breathe through it LOL). Here's some of our pics.

The only thing I couldn't do was the wall because I have an extreme fear of heights and I just couldn't stop shaking. I touched the top, climbed back down and walked around. Even though I was at my highest weight ever I still made it through all the other obstacles...just a little slower than most.
