Update:
I have a stable OS and a working copy of photoshop. My photos are still missing, but I downloaded the ones I had on my phone so I can work with them. Praying I can get a full working computer, but for now I can continue with MOC. THANK YOU GOD!!

I woke up to a dead computer. It's stuck at a half progress bar and nothing will make it finish the log on. Photoshop is on my computer. I have no way to scrap. My iPhoto library was screwed up from a few months ago so it wasn't backing up properly. The Apple Geniuses (who many of them are NOT...) say a factory re-set is what they will have to do when this happens. So I'll probably lose another 6 months of photos in the process. Thank God my scrap kits are on an external drive. I'll only lose my first 4 MOC layouts as they are on the resident hard drive.

Right now I'm numb. I use my computer for many things, and my daughter has a PC partition where she plays games and does animation. This is bad. We absolutely cannot afford another computer. I thought I could use the PC partition and do my pages with Photoshop. Sure, I can OPEN Photoshop, but all my files are on a Mac Formatted hard drive. I can't get to any of my kits.

It's also during MOC. I'm trying to remind myself that other people have much bigger problems than this, but right now I just feel gutted.

No no no no no noooooooo! I'm so very sorry Susan! This is awful any day of the year, but especially awful during MOC when you just wanna be creative and not deal with a broken computer. I absolutely understand your feeling of being gutted. I wish I could share a computer with you!

I'm going to try and get Photoshop to work on the PC partition since that's on a separate hard drive.
 
Oh no! :eek: I think this calls for Best Buy's 18 month no-interest credit. ;) I'm currently paying off a dryer. :)

Oh no! I don't even live near you anymore to help. I hate when computers don't act the way they are supposed to. That always is so frustrating!!! Especially when you just want to create.

There's never a good time for this to happen. I'm so sorry. I think most of us here have experienced computer problems, and can feel your pain.

Crossing all crossables that you can work on the partition portion of your computer.
 
Well, the PC boot was no dice. I installed another OS on an external drive and I'm now trying to install CC and Photoshop on the new OS drive. Cross your fingers!! I might get it worked out yet!!
 
I'm so sorry, Susan!! I sure hope you are able to get working!! I know that's so frustrating!!

Glad to hear you are operational again! Do you use Google Photos at all? I've been able to retrieve a few I thought were totally lost this way.
 
So sorry this happened to you, but glad to hear that you have found a workaround. Hopefully you can recover your photos as well. :beat

Yay! I know it's not ideal, but at least you won't be missing out on all the scrapping fun.
