I have to share this, I am so happy that the time and effort of the volunteers that "guarded " the nest, and all the people who took such care to leave the eggs alone without a grumble , despite this being one of our few sandy beaches ( and therefore a very popular one ) was rewarded by 66 eggs hatching (early they say, because of changing temperatures)
Yet another of the hundreds I have for wanting to visit your fair island!! one day, do not be surprised to meet me at the boat!
That is seriously something on my bucket list that I REALLY want to witness in my lifetime! I've seen nests marked and fenced before on a couple of my travel adventures, but I've never been lucky enough to see them hatching and making their way back to the water. So awesome!
Alas I as not lucky enough to be there when they hatched. The photos from the actual hatch is from a news paper, but I had to scrap the end of the story.
