Hi, and Happy Friday. Are you travelling for Thanksgiving? My daughter and family is packing up today to head to Tennessee with a large group of family members. Are you going to family or to another away destination?

Going to my sister's, she's lives about 20 minutes from me.

Nope, staying home. If I would go anywhere it would be a 5 minute drive here in town.

We're staying home! we used to travel to the east coast to see my family every year but it is just too much travel for the short time we have available.

We usually have Thanksgiving with my parents but they are flying to Hawaii on Thanksgiving to go on a cruise around all of the Hawaiian islands, so my kids, husband and I are having Thanksgiving with just us. My son's girlfriend is coming over and my daughter's boyfriend might be able to join us for our 2pm feast, if his family is doing their Thanksgiving meal later, so we will have at least one extra and possibly two. We had a flood in our kitchen and dining room last Thanksgiving that took until Easter to be fully repaired, so this will be the first time we use our "new" dining room. I actually just got home from the grocery store with all the supplies for our Thanksgiving feast!

My daughter is coming home to PA from college in Rhode Island. I haven't seen her since August. She is coming by train which is the first time she has ever done that so I'm praying it goes smoothly. Tickets were so darn expensive! It's definitely cheaper than paying for the gas to drive there and pick her up, but I wasn't expecting them to cost so much. We are cooking dinner for my parents and my brother along with the 5 of us. It's a lot of work, but hopefully, it will be worth it!

@sharonb, that sounds like fun! I've never really traveled further than to my grandparent's house about 20 minutes away when they were still alive. I hope you have a safe trip!

@umyesh, I've been trying to get the house in order, too! I usually do a deep clean wiping down everything from ceiling to floor, but this year, I just don't have it in me to do all that. Hopefully, no one notices!

@KayTeaPea, I'm so sorry you had a flood in your kitchen, that's horrible! Glad it's all fixed! My hubby just got home from the store too, but there were quite a few things he has to go and find somewhere else because the store was out...like butter...how does the store not have butter? A Hawaiin cruise sounds amazing! I bet you will have fun with your kids and their boyfriend/girlfriend there. My kids haven't had any boyfriends or girlfriends yet, but it will be fun to see who they choose to spend time with when they do!

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

When my in-laws were still living, we drove 10 hours to northwest Indiana every Thanksgiving, and we've gone to the beach a few times. This year we are staying home!

Staying local! Likely this will be the last Thanksgiving meal at MIL's, as she prepares to downsize and move.

Flying to Disney World on Tuesday with my husband and daughter... our son will meet us there! I can't wait! We did Disneyland together for Thanksgiving last year, so decided to do it again this year, but the opposite side of the country :-)

My oldest comes home from school tonight, and in a few days we'll leave for New York to spend the holiday at my sister's with the rest of my family. Without traffic it's about a 5 hour drive, but over holiday weekends you never know!

We will go to my daughter’s house, just 5 minutes away. My other daughter and SIL arrive tomorrow so we will all enjoy the holiday together. It will be an easy holiday for me as I just have to make the cranberry relish and yeast rolls.
