We'll be talking about journal cards and how to use them for more than just journaling. I hope you can join us for the chat and scrap.
That sounds so interesting! In my mind, "journal cards = pocket scrapping", which is not my favorite kind of scrapping. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!
Exactly! Pocket scrapping is what they were first made for, but they can be used for so much more. Journal Cards are one of my FAV elements in kits and I'm not a pocket scrapper.
I rarely pocket scrap, but I use journal cards quite a bit. And I think we had a tutorial about creative uses of journal cards a year or so ago. I remember making a layout with word art extracted from a journal card. Journaling is very important to me so of course I use journaling cards. Though I probably just write directly on the paper more often. And just about as often as I use journal cards I write on my photos. Not sure I can make the chat. Depends on how soon we get home from homeschool co-op this afternoon and what happens after.
Ah yes, you are thinking of the technique scrap on "deconstructing journal cards" - but this one is more about using them beyond the pocket scrapping. Sounds like this will be an easy one for you if you can come play
We'll be in the chat room in about 1.5 hours. I hope ya'll can make it. If not, check the forum and play along since it's a slow scrap. I'll put the info in the thread. Amber LaBau is our sponsor so you won't want to miss out on the participation prize.
Sorry you missed us. All the info for the slow scrap is here. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threa...10-ways-to-get-more-from-journal-cards.49902/
This was so much fun! Thanks for all the instructions and the great chat! I changed the blend mode (on the sandcastle card), used only a part (of the BEACH card), and used the other three as is.
I used a journal card as part of the design and as a photo spot and for the date - the calendar card.
Sorry we missed you too Cath. The slow scrap is closed, but the ideas are still available so if you want to go to this thread and download the pdf file with the tips you can try them on a future layout. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threa...10-ways-to-get-more-from-journal-cards.49902/
@Electra and @Eyeore - it looks like you gals posted your layouts in the announcement thread instead of the slow scrap thread. No worries though, I see that you posted before the deadline so I'll be pm'ing your prize code as soon as I finish leaving love in the gallery for all the participants. Thanks for playing along.
