***CLOSED*** {winner announced} Technique Challenge | DSD 2021

The rule of thirds is a "rule of thumb" for composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings, and photographs. The guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections. The idea of this technique, is that aligning a subject with these points creates more tension, energy, and interest in the composition than simply centering the subject.




For this challenge, you will take a new photo demonstrating the Rule of Thirds. If you do not have access to camera, etc...and would like to use an older photo, that is OK too. Create a NEW layout with your photo, one that you love, but that clearly shows the Rule of Thirds in the photo.




Upload your page to the TLP Gallery and to this thread. At the close of DSD weekend, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 11am EDT, a random winner will be picked to win a $3 gift certificate to the store.

CHALLENGE RULES:

• Take a new photo (or use an old one) that uses the technique of "Rule of Thirds"
• Create a NEW layout using your photo
