I've had enough of it. Tristin (7) jumped off a swing and broke his arm on 5.28. Anakin (10) and Paxtin (5) fell backwards off a picnic table that was on top of another picnic table...it fell on top of them. Anakin broke his arm (this was today - 6.27). Paxtin is okay, but has been instructed that he is in NO way entitled to break an arm! Can summer be over now?
oh yikes!! good luck for the rest of the summer - hope it's injury free!! i'm imagining it will be difficult to keep them entertained w/ broken arms?? or do they have waterproof casts so they can swim, etc? ackk!
Oh no Keela! That sounds like my summer but so far only the dog has broken any bones. I guess swimming is out for your family. I'll be thinking fast healing thoughts (and maybe you should invest in bubble wrap for the rest of the family LOL)
Keela, I saw a couple of your Facebook posts last night and was in a panic for you. Yikes! How scary!! I'm so glad it was "just" a broken arm. I hope everyone heals up quickly and the rest of your summer is incident-free!
WOW! Two in a cast?!?!?! I would say you've got every right to call off summer now. Got a call last night that my granddaughter broke her leg by jumping off the couch.....and she's not even 2 years old yet.
Oh wow, not even 2? Poor baby! Tristin gets his cast off on July 8th. He doesn't have a waterproof cast. They said in the ER that Anakin would probably just be put in a sling, but I don't know. The break is up high by this shoulder, so I am thinking they wouldn't cast that? We'll find out today at 2:30, he sees the doctor then. Sigh...the boys are watching Indiana Jones right now. LOL! It's a good thing Anakin loves to read. I'll be going to the library today to pick up some books for him.
Oh no Keela. I'd be ready to call off summer too! NO fun! btw....my mom broke hers up higher by the shoulder and she was just in a sling. How on earth did I raise 4 boys and not one broken bone? (ok...one of them broke a finger...does that count?)
Oh my gosh. What a rotten start to the summer!! I'm constantly worried that one of mine will break something with as wild as they are. One of the girls in Ella's dance class fell off the monkey bars and broke her arm the night before their dance recital, man did I feel for that little girl (and her mom!).
i soooo feel for you! i'm about ready to put my son isaac in a bubble so he won't get hurt anymore! he JUST got out of his cast for his ankle at the end of may. three days ago, he fell and rolled his ankle again... screaming panic in paing - poor kiddo. but i think he's okay now. then two days ago we were walking through bass pro shop (which is an outdoor sports store for those who aren't familiar) and a cross bow fell off of a display and landed on top of his head. THAT was a loud scream. i've never been appologized to so much in my life as i was by those employees. ugggh.... probably freaked out i was gonna sue them or something (it IS america after all, LOL). no, he's fine, just has a big goose egg on his head. i'm hoping for no more injuries though. i can't take any more x-rays and casts and such... we JUST did that 2 months ago! hang in there... hopefully it will all be smooth sailing from here!
