Holy cow! I can't believe this next batch will take us through June! That's kind of insane! I just finished reading the last one of the last four we picked and I have to say that I loved them all. That's so fun! So... our little informal book club here at the pad is open to anyone and everyone who likes to read. For this thread we are looking for suggestions for what to read together over the next four months. Everyone can suggest one book for now because when I do the voting poll, I can only have 10 selections in the poll. I will leave this thread open until February 10th or until we get 10 suggestions. Then I will open up a voting poll. Once we vote, I'll start a new thread for each of the four top books... one per month, for the next four months. You can see lots of our old picks in Reading Pad HERE. You can read the books in any order and at any time. If you want to chat about the books, just reply to that thread. Easy peasy! So.... what should we read together next? 1. What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon 2. The Five by Hallie Rubenhold 3. The Trial of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend 4. Summer of '69 by Elin Hilderbrand 5. American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins 6. The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh 7. The Kitchen Daughter by Jael McHenry 8. The Lager Queen of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal 9. The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown 10. The One Who Got Away by Caroline Overington
I'd like to pop this one is as my suggestion. It's been on my list for a long while and I want an excuse to read it. What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon:
Super hard to pick just one. But the facebook book club I help moderate is doing a "Middle Grade March" and i think our vote is going to land on "Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow" Which would be a fun and magical twist to anyone unfamiliar with the middle grade genre! It was one of my 5* reads of 2019!
oh I am in the middle of the language of flowers was almost an all nighter read last night... it is crazy good! @Mama Shades recommended it from a page she did in the gallery...lol and Where the Crawdads Sing is my top book of 2019 by far! lol, so the page caught my eye, and well I did my grocery shopping yesterday and I have a full cup of coffee...lol yep, I m gonna finish it today!
@Mama Shades gasp! I finished it last night, and had to put it down, tears, and I was reading it way to fast! Thank you!
Here's one that's been on my list for a while now. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9205766-the-kitchen-daughte/
Is there a list anywhere of all the books that have been chosen in the past? I don't want to suggest one that's already been done. @Karen
I read this one in late December just because the title made me laugh but it's a good story with a lot of family stuff coming up. Will they ever resolve it all??
Oh I LOVED that book too! I just read her newest book too and loved that one also! It's called We Never Asked for Wings.
