***Closed*** Speed Scrap - Holiday Cookie Recipe Swap | DYD 2020

    If there's a dessert that speaks most to the holiday season, it's cookies. Cookie swaps are so much fun. This usually involves a small event that with family and friends to test and exchange your best recipes. I have hosted or attended a cookie swap every year, until 2020. So...instead of an actual event, I'm hosting a virtual one and you are all invited!

    Ready to scrap?

    1. Start with a blank layout and choose a background paper.
    2. Add 2 4x6-ish sized journal cards - AKA recipe cards - (can be blank or from a kit) and include your RECIPE on the card. For the cards, one is for ingredients and one for instructions. If you have a photo of a recipe card, that's totally cool as well.
    3. Add a big title of the name of your cookie at the top of your LO
    4. Add a ribbon, strip of paper, or stitching to hold your cards down onto the page.
    5. Add at least 3 elements, word art, paint, etc...
    6. OPTIONAL - add a photo...can be of the cookies or of your grandmother you got the recipe from or of anything at all...totally up to you and completely optional.


    This scrap closes on Monday, November 16th at 10pm EST.


    Please post your completed layout in The Lilypad gallery and come back and drop a link here so I can find them.
    GALLERY RULES: Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products. (Templates count as 15%.) Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits; no off-site linking allowed.

    For the cookie exchange speed scrap
    I didn't have room to add variations so here goes:
    You may use any flavor of cake mix. Chocolate cake mix with mini chocolate chips is great. You may roll in powdered sugar before baking for a crinkled look.
    You may using white chocolate chips for dipping and use colored sprinkles.
    Lots of different variations - try them all.

    Thank you for the fun challenge!

    This is my son's favourite Christmas cookie (basically a peanut butter cookie, with pretzels for antlers; chocolate chips for eyes; and red and green candies for the nose...and then it looks like a reindeer!). Ridiculously cute; ridiculously easy.
