One of my friends has written a book and it has become no3 on the best seller list in Australia! It is a cracking read thank goodness (it would be very difficult to face her if I thought it was badly written...). Fun for me because it is set in my home area, Canberra is mostly seen as too boring to set a book in but that is slowly changing. It is very much in the style of Liane Moriarty. Don't think it available overseas yet but to my Aus friends, highly recommended.
Congrats to your friend on not just writing the book but on it being a success! Hopefully it reaches the US soon (and other places - I feel selfish listing just my country lol)!

Congrats to your friend... it is so exciting when they write a book. My friend did one too and it was a biography of him as he has Cerebral Palsy and is a Dr of Psychology and a professional photographer and teacher of photography, so for me it was neat to read about his life, moreso than just seeing him in HS. (He has written books on photography lighting too but I like his biography ) So neat that your friend wrote a book of around town so you can walk the town in your mind as you read the book and it is almost like you have popped yourself in it and reading and imagining it happening around you.. so cool!
i just read the blurb on GR (any mother's worst nightmare; our mother's group had 10 mums and i remember not being able to take your eyes off them for a second in our local parks (one near water, one near bushland) and noticed Liane Moriarty's snippet on the cover too (yes, i'm that unobservant these days) - that's a pretty big deal and had to help her sales and get to the no.3 spot! Added to my To Read list
That is SO cool! And hurray for not having to lie about it being a good book! That sure could have been tricky. That's so exciting that she's #3 already!
