Hi everyone! It’s Nicole from NBK-Design, and I’m beyond excited to welcome you to our special NSD Smartphone Treasure Challenge!
This time, your imagination is required. Here comes a Blind Scrap — where you follow fun instructions without seeing a finished layout first!
It’s all about letting your imagination and creativity lead the way.
Are you ready for a little creative adventure?
And there’s even more good news:

It’s the perfect time to stock up and get inspired while you create your challenge layout!
Let’s make this NSD unforgettable — with creativity, great deals, and lots of fun!
What is this NSD Challenge about? This challenge is all about creating a layout following the instructions to build it step by step! You have to follow the instructions exactly - no more - no less what is listed. You will not see a sample layout — your interpretation is the magic!
The fun of this challenge is seeing how everyone interprets the instructions without seeing Sylvias layout.
How to create your photo:
You can take your photo using any device you love — your smartphone, a digital camera, a tablet, an iPad, or even a scanner.
Whatever helps you capture your creative moment best!
Choose a photo that fits the feeling of connection, flow, calmness, or daily life — but it’s completely up to you!
Your Blind Scrap Instructions:Please follow these steps to create your layout:
- Background:
Start with a plain or lightly textured background — keep it simple to let your horizontal design stand out.
- Photo:
Place one photo onto your layout.
Your photo must be positioned horizontally across the center, or slightly higher or lower on the page — but it must flow left to right!
- Paper Strip:
Add at least one long horizontal paper strip (or painted line) under or over your photo to strengthen the horizontal movement.
- Embellishments:
Cluster 3-5 small embellishments along the horizontal path of your layout.
They should help guide the eye from left to right. Think flowers, stitches, small elements.
- Word Art or Quote:
Add a piece of Word Art, a Quote, or a handwritten word horizontally close to your photo or paper strip.
- Optional:
Add some paint, scribbles, stitching, or stamping — but keep the “left-to-right” feeling strong!
- Balance:
Leave breathing room at the top and bottom of the layout — focus all your design weight horizontally across the middle third of your canvas.
