thanks -my first page since insd! this was the kick i needed-the blending in mine is the overlay mode for the watercolour camera and the bubble wrap paint is in multiply
I used blending modes for the photo and the journal card. The original journal card was very light and I wanted it to better complement the photo which was quite bright. I tried many combinations and don't really know for sure what I settled on! - I think color burn and darker color - I duplicated the card first and worked both layers. When I added the paint under the journal card, I was surprised that it came through on the card - but I liked the way it looked. I also used a pin light setting on the stitches in the upper left and lower right corners. Original journal card - And my layout:
I used lighter color on one paper & soft light on another. The best part is he was snuggled up with me when I was finishing this. He said "I just want to watch you scrapbook. It's like a puzzle."
Here's mine. I'd never played with blending and I use GIMP so I used Burn to make the rectangle paper darker than the background paper and to make all the embellishments more vibrant. Hopefully what I did works for this challenge!
It was fun playing with the blend modes! I used overlay to blend two background papers, I used disolve on the circles, screen to lighten the word art, and soft light on the duplicated photo
