First off you have 24 hours.. Instructions: #1 one photo two or more frames that separate the photo highlighting at least 2 things/parts on that ONE photo and ONLY the part of the photo in the frame can be shown. Any background to be erased. example: unless you have an out of bounds extraction! This is OPTIONAL, and a great fun way to play. my page: then it can be out of the frames (examples of oob in next post) A great tutorial for OOB HERE added instructions: #2-a bubble of some kind (thought bubble, soap bubble #3-sparkle or confetti #4-paint or gesso papers: you pick the one's you love!! #5-choose one or all of following date journaling title 24 hours cause this is hard! bhwhahha Please load your page to the Speed Scrap gallery and this thread, so I can love on it, and send coupons!
Tutorials to go here! Here is a video tutorial I did for the MOC in 2015 and instructions: LINK all 4 layers Three layers of same PHOTO, bottom locked just in case, and invisible next layer up PHOTO cropped to size of chosen frame. then frame above cropped PHOTO then the PHOTO parts you want out of bound! This is where you can use mask. Using a mask is not required, you can use the selection tool, pen tool or just erase however you want to get your Out Of Bounds popping out of the frame. HInts for Masking: Make sure you have your Layer Mask selected (active) before painting on your photo. You can tell your Layer Mask is active by the border around it in the Layers Panel. When you first add a Layer Mask it is white by default so it reveals (shows) everything on that Layer and you won't see a change to your photo. WHITE REVEALS, BLACK CONCEALS. You can Conceal (or hide, or mask) any areas of your Layer by painting over them with black. Bring back a part of the Layer you didn't mean to mask by painting with white. The Foreground Color determines what color your Brush will paint with. You can switch your Foreground Color between black and white by pressing "x" on your keyboard.
thank you for the scrap and chat Anne. Lots of those examples look like loads of fun. Here's my page. (I went for something simpler)
Fun chat. I had to play with the extraction a bit but I liked the result. A concert we went to with selections from Porgy & Bess -- hence the words in the speech bubble.
Pretty boring compared to all the incredible work, but it meets the rules, and is something I can print in my album that reflects part of our vacation. Thanks for the challenge (even though I didn't quite feel up to it!)! I always love the Slow AND Fast scraps.
I missed the chat because winter illnesses are still here... Anyway, at least I was able to scrap. Here is my page. Thank you for the inspiration!
So sorry I missed the majority of the chat. I took this photo yesterday on our hike in Chimney Rock Park (55 flights of stairs). I found this template that had the photo spots in the right spot.
oh, dear Anne...I'm sorry but I'm really no good at extractions and my program is too old, so I barely could follow the steps from the tutorials...I tried to make the distortion on the frame, but as for shadows and OOB effect...not happy....anyway, here's my page ( and thank you for making me try new things!!)
I wish I could quit my job and make it to all these chats. ESPECIALLY this one! I love love love your samples, Anne! And as for mine, I cannot even begin to tell you the stories that go on in my imagination when I am doing these things. lolol I used a scatter-is that OK? I kind of look at confetti and scatters as the same thing. (Even though I realize they are not)
For whatever reason no matter how much tinkering I do with this page, I can't seem to "finish" it ... sigh. Anyway, thanks for the fun challenge. I LOVE extractions, so I squeezed in 3, lol.
