This is a slow scrap. Since it's Thanksgiving Week in America, you have extra time to finish.
Layouts are due Saturday, November 27, 2021 by 3pm EST/12pm PST

1. Add at least 3 photos. You can have more, but must have at least 3.
2. Add at least 5 papers. They can be solids or patterns, or a mix. But at least 5.
3. "Ink" at least one paper. You can ink the edge, you can ink on top, whatever works for your page. I like to use ink to give pattern papers a softer edge when layering.
4. "Ink" the edge of at least 1 other item on your page.
5. Add at least 5 buttons or flowers or a mix.
6. Use an alpha for the title. (Yes, this can be the element you ink)
7. Journal at least 5 lines on your layout. Add anything else you need to finish the page, but don't forget the instructions above!

*Ink: You can use paint, or a soft brush, or ink spot elements. A soft brush will give a more distinct ink look.

Please post your completed layout in The Lilypad gallery. GALLERY RULES: Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products. (Templates count as 15%.) Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits; no off-site linking allowed.

Ink help here

I like to ink the edges of the papers to give definition, especially when I layer the papers. There's a few ways of doing it. This one I used a soft watercolor brush by Mommyish and outlined on a layer above the paper.
Step 2.jpg

When I clip the layer to the paper, I end up with that ink looking edge on the paper.
Step 3.jpg

Another way you can do it in Photoshop that's a little less messy:
Select the element (or paper), then contract the selection. I used 5 pixels. Create another layer.

Alt Step 1.JPG

Select the inverse. Then, I used the same watercolor brushes, only super large to cover the whole element.
alt step 2.JPG

Clip it to the layer below, and you can see a softer ink edge around the potatoes.

Here's an example from Angela using Affinity https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/mark-making-video.73129/

I brushed on some brush I found in Photoshop; I'm pretty sure it came with the program. I have PSCC.

My inked edges are on the white and gold diagonally striped paper as well as the Merry Christmas round paper element.

I inked the background, the pink paper and the word art. Thanks for the scrap.

Here we go, Thanks for the scrap ,and chat. Ink blot behind the photos, and on the edge. made by me in Art Rage and PSE.

So fun! Thanks for the chat. I inked the BG paper edges and the chevrons with the light colored paper and the clouds.

thank you for the chat and challenge Courtney! It was fun!

I brushed two notebook papers and the alpha

thanks for the long scrapping challenge!! I'm sorry I missed the chat, I was at work!! (I inked the green paper and the black JC)

I am loving all the inky bits!
There's still time to participate!

Yay for a super loooong timeframe! Baby is teething currently so it's hard for me to meet slow scrap deadlines. This one is fantastic. Hopefully I could get a page done in time.

Courtney dear, thank you so much for hosting and for the great technique tips, I'm using GIMP, so I need to figure out how to do some things, but the basic is that I learn something new, thanks. Here's my take, I inked the border around the brown solid, and around the journal card, full credits in gallery. By the way, that cake looks delicious!
Nice weekend!
