So yesterday i forgot it was friday: it's school holidays, DH is home still since xmas and it's MOC so I'm counting days but days of the week don't have the meaning that they do during days of routine - today i popped in to write a PadPatter and got sidetracked by all the artsied tags in the gallery. I'm often sidetracked and end up starting several tasks and rarely finishing them (unless i write them on a list to keep me on track).

Are you naturally able to focus or do you get easily sidetracked? What keeps you on track?

I have to admit that I do get sidetracked at times. But when needed I can keep focused.
Once I start on an MOC challenge page I do not like to get called away from the computer until the page is finished.

Lol yep I know what you mean - the washing machine beeped at me before & pulled me away again. There are so many real life obstacles that get in the way of scrapping!

When I sit down, I too hate to be pulled away from my page until it's complete.

I'm on holidays, my youngest is between high school and university so she's on holidays ... if hubby and my eldest weren't working I would have no idea! But then again I am pretty vague at the moment :giggle

yes I get sidetracked so easily so combining that with my tendency to procrastinate it’s a bad combination.

I seriously just got distracted for 15 minutes looking for this cute cartoon I saw on Facebook earlier that had balloons (representing different hobbies/crafts) in it and at the end of the strip, the person was running around with a handful of balloons. I can't find it. I can't find that 15 minutes I spent looking for it either. So no, I don't get side tracked. LOL

I'm sidetracked right now!

I'm still working on the tag page (just figured out what to do about an hour ago), and for some reason I thought I should come see if the next one is posted. It is, but before I could do more than look at the title I wandered off, and here I am, like three stops later.

Which is pretty normal for me. I don't think I have any of the attention deficit disorders, but I am most definitely Dug. I generally just roll with it, although I've learned the hard way to set a hecking timer when I'm cooking. Seriously, I'll wander off, sit at the desk, and then spend five minutes trying to figure out why I smell food cooking.

(And now I just got sidetracked trying to find the Dug gif. Sheesh, I'm going back to Gimp. After I read tomorrow's challenge)

HA! That's funny!

Well, I came here thinking I'd get to work right away on today's MOC page, but I'm reading forum posts instead.

But I'm pretty good with staying on focus when I want to, and returning to what I was doing if I was distracted.

super side tracked easily. I blame my phone... it's too easy to go answer whatever question popped in my brain these days... just go to google. so I can get my answer, and then see something on the page that triggers a different question, or reminder of something I wanted to look up, or a video i wanted to watch when I had a spare minute. Soon, it's 4 hours later and I am wracking my brain to figure out where my time went, why my work isn't done, or what I was in the middle of. I definitely need to practice mental focus this year :giggle

I get side tracked easily and tend to procrastinate but when under pressure I can pull it together and get thing done.

My job (non-profit administrator/EA) is literally staying focused and making sure the organization and the people in it are focused, too. I actually spend more time reminding other people about doing their work or refocusing them on their work when they get sidetracked than I spend doing my work.

you're so right about going from question to question and time magically disappearing!

lol i can totally believe that in this day and age businesses need people in roles like yours to keep them focused!
