I Have Done Monochromatic Layouts With Certain Colors But Not In Black/White/Grey...I Had So Much Fun Making My Layout & I Loved The Black/White/Grey Look So Much At The End Of The Layout That I Made...I May Just Have To Do More Monochromatic Layouts Like This With Just The 1 Pop Of Color Element Added...Thank You For The Great Challenge!... this one was hard! first, because I don't label things by colors; second because I had to figure out how to recolor elements. lol. I'm not sure how I feel about the page, though I do admit it was fun to see how to recolor. could come in handy!
Not sure what program you use... if you use photoshop all you need to do is add a later adjustment.. either the B/W, or hue adjustment and moved the slider on the saturation all the way to the left to desaturate the item, or you can even use a gradient map adjustment and choose the b/w gradient... you can also go to the top bar and choose Image > Adjustments > and choose desaturate. There are so many ways to do this. If you are using PSE, very similar ways to do it also .
I had a hard time with this! I love color so leaving out all the bright pretties was *sniff* difficult. And I agonized over everything. But I really like how my page turned out. Thanks for the challenge!
Ruthanne, so sorry you had a hard time with it, but it really turned out to be a beauty. For me I find b/w with the one pop of color to draw focus on what the page is about. The G Clef, I immediately see MUSIC.. then I look around and everything else you added to the page including the beautiful photo all expresses that so it did what I was hoping a beautiful page drawing focus to the core of the page mine was based on England and my traveling to the UK.. just by looking at the page the first focus is the Union Jack flag = UK/England then you look at the rest of the page. You did that with your Music inspired page and did it well!
@cfile Thank you for the inspiration. I've really had fun with this one. And enjoy your guest spot! I'm looking forward to tomorrow!
