Scrapping Style changes?

when i paper scrapped (over 12years ago eek) i really only bought from 1 or 2 companies style wise and everything was very colour-blocked. When i went digi, i think my style was still traditional (paper looking). These days, i dont know think i have a defined style - i'm all over the map and i used to have a mental problem with that (thinking i should fit a mould or whatever) but i'm equally happy with clean styles and messy styles; multi-photo or single photo; jam packed and (some) negative space pages and like to get artsy as well as traditional.
But regardless i can't remember when i didn't use digi templates or scraplift, and i still prefer not to squint to see the details in my photos ;)

I'm always up for a good scraplift!!!

I am collecting Leah's styles because someday, I assume I'll be able to scrap a page with a template only, and NO kit. It's a goal of mine. :giggle

I think I've stuck with somewhat messy throughout. Last year, I joined my first creative team, and she didn't allow the use of templates with her kits. I was on her team for a year, so I know I can create without templates. Many of my AJ layouts are without templates. But... I like templates and was hoarding them, so I decided I should actually use them. I let go of "my layouts look like so and so's and I want to be different" because those layouts are going into MY scrapbooks... not everyone else's!

I've noticed a change, even in my pocket style. I used to love having a lot of stuff all over, now I'm more about the photos (I take A LOT of photos) and a little bit of journaling. Maybe a word strip here or there. I haven't done a digiscrap layout since I participated in an Anniversary scrap marathon. Which was about 9 months ago. I wish I had time to do them, but the pocket style takes me so much time (even with Mommyish's Template Maker) that I barely have time for other layouts (I also don't print them, so there's that too).

I've always used templates, but only recently have I started moving things around on them instead of using the exact template. It makes for cool pages for sure.

I've noticed that I do some things very differently depending on whether my layout is paper or digital.

I don't do nearly as much paper scrapping these days as I used to, but there I tend to use lots of little hand-cut strips at the top/bottom of a page and little or no paint. On a digital layout, I'm more willing to experiment (thanks to that wonderful "undo" option) and add paint, paper layers, and embellishments way more than I would ever dream of doing on a paper page! I'm finding now that my paper pages are getting even MORE simple, and my digital pages are getting more filled!

I love doing all types of styles and will use a template when I need to, my favorite style though is to use BLENDING, paint and scribbles! Just like a big kid! :giggle
