I would really appreciate any prayers or positive thoughts you could spare today for my sweet retriever, Sandy. Earlier this wk she was diagnosed with Cushing's disease which we will start treating soon with medication but more immediately we are dealing with a tumor that needed to be excised so the vet set it up for today. Because of her age and heart problems and whatever else may be going on with her, she is at risk for surgery but he felt there was no getting around her needing to have it. So I am on pins and needles today waiting for the phone call to tell me she is out of the surgery and coming off the anesthetic. If she can just make it through this we will deal with all the other stuff one step at a time but I really don't want to lose her yet although as an old girl I know realistically that of course is going to happen...but hopefully not today or in the immediate future. I really believe in the power of prayer/positive thoughts so....thx anyone who takes a moment for her.
 
Praying for your adorable puppy Sandy... I have loved looking at your layouts with her, especially this past week. I am keeping you all in my thoughts that she is ok :) Hugs to you Rae!
 
Thx everyone. Waiting is the hardest part. I just keep waiting for the phone call. I'm doing some computer work this morning and then I think I'll do some scrapping to keep my mind off it.

Aw, you got it! I hope that she is out of surgery by now and that you have some good news!
 
Awww...I'll be saying a prayer for her. I love your adorable layouts of her...she look like such a sweetie! I hope she's doing okay.

Yay...she's out of surgery, they removed the tumor and she is waking up from the anesthesia. Can't wait to get her home tonight. Don't know yet when we'll start treatment for the Cushing's disease but one step at a time and I'm just so thrilled she'll be coming home. I'm going to grab her a treat at the butcher shop on my way to pick her up! Thx so much everyone for your prayers and thoughts.
 
Just saw this now - so glad it all went ok. Will be praying she heals quickly!!!
 
Thx Jen. We're heading out to pick her up in a few minutes....can't wait! I didn't like being home all day without her.

Just an update. She must be feeling so much better b/c she is eating lots and was running around the park yesterday. She still sleeps a lot but that is old doggie syndrome but when awake she seems less fidgety and restless so I think is in less pain.
