Running for school board!

So because I don have anything better to do - I'm running for school board.

My town's school / board is a hot mess. I gotta be able to do better than what we have now!

It is a mess! But I got 15 signatures on my campaign form on my way back to my seat after my 3 minutes at the mic grilling the school board. Not bad as I was only in the 5th row. Haha. I need 75 to be on the ballot. I don't think I will win, and I don't care if I don't. I just need to stand behind what I'm saying, and I've been very vocal.

Good for you!! A lot of people complain and complain about things, but do nothing about the problem. Your stepping up, letting your voice be heard, and doing something to create change!

I hope you're able to be in a position to help your school move ahead. We had a school board member say that we didn't want any new students, our numbers were just fine as they are...you know, who needs new technology or more funding, we'll just stay stuck in our ways and fade away. : (

Good for you! The schools, students, teachers, and parents all deserve a wonderful board member. And when you win, at least there will be ONE wonderful, caring board member! Maybe they can hold board member meetings while you run a marathon. You know, for multitasking. *giggle*
