Hi everyone! I'm grateful to be here, hosting this month's challenge for Rachel.

First, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the October challenge. Keep an eye on the Inbox, because the participation coupons from Rachel will soon appear. Also, congratulations to our winner of the $8 coupon, randomly drawn, @trekmom ! :cheer:clappy

I simply cannot believe that it's already November and that we are fast approaching the end of the year. I have the feeling that time is passing faster and faster, as if only yesterday we were celebrating Christmas and now it is waiting for us again, just around the corner. But, for the moment, we still have a little time to enjoy the colors of late autumn/spring (depends on which part of the world you are). And speaking about colors, let me tell you what I have in mind for our challenge, this month.

******* Rachel Jefferies November 2023 Mixed Media Challenge *******

I'm sure you all know, by and large, what NEUTRAL COLORS are. But, nevertheless, I will leave you some explanations below, which, perhaps, will be useful to you.
Neutral colors are muted shades without saturation, that means they appear colorless. These are not part of the color wheel, they are neither primary nor secondary colors. Neutral colors are also divided into two categories, pure neutrals and near-neutrals.
Pure neutrals are black, white, brown and gray because they have no color undertones or base shades. Pure neutrals are completely saturated with a single shade. Once you combine a pure neutral with a primary color, you influence its saturation, which ceases to be pure. This is how the almost-neutral colors appear. For example, from the combination of gray with a little blue, you can create a pale blue-grey, or eggshell color, or from brown with yellow you can create the tan color, and so on.
A great advantage of using these colors in design is that they give a break to the eye. Because of their lack of saturation, they do not require a lot of attention or focus, so that, once relaxed, the eye can then appreciate a spot of saturated color, patterns and textures in the design. Neutral colors do not compete for attention, so other colors have the opportunity to stand out.

That being said, I would like you to create a page in neutral and almost-neutral colors (Rachel's collections have a varied range of papers and elements of this kind), then you can add a saturated color, only one color, but which can be repeated in a maximum of 3 elements on the page. For example, choose yellow as the color pop, and you can have 3 yellow flowers or 3 different yellow elements on the page (ex: a yellow flower, a yellow stamp and a piece of yellow paper).
I have created a board on Pinterest with a few examples of neutral colors: https://ro.pinterest.com/roxanatc7/neutral-colors/ and Rachel has created a board on Pinterest with lots of inspiration of pages created with a neutral color scheme and maybe some color pops which you can find here - https://www.pinterest.co.uk/racheljefferiesdesigns/scrapbook-neutral-ish/

Here is a layout I created with neutrals and just a pop of color:

    Challenge Requirements :
    - Create a new page using neutral colors (pure and/or almost-pure)
    - Add a pop of saturated color that can be repeated in maximum 3 elements on the page
    - Photos are optional; if used, they can be black&white or in color.
    - Use at least 75% of Rachel's Product. Any remaining percentage must be product from another current TLP designer.
    - The product can be currently available in the TLP Shop or be retired products from Rachel or a current TLP designer.
    - Hybrid projects are also welcome and the same product rules apply. Where digital products are used in a hybrid project they must all come from current The LilyPad designers, and at least 75% must be Rachel's Product.
    - Upload your layout to the Rachel Jefferies Designs Gallery at TLP with your product credits.
    - For your challenge entry to be counted, you MUST upload your finished layout to this thread. Please link your gallery image to your post in this thread, as it helps us leave love on your layout (and validate your project).
    - No double-dipping… your layout must be created for this challenge only, no others. You must create a NEW layout for this challenge.
    - This challenge will remain open for the monthly coupons through November 30th, 2023.

    Prizes and other important notes:
    - All participants who post their page during the challenge month by the end of month deadline and meet the criteria will be eligible for a coupon of 15% off their next order (from Rachel's shop) of $10 or more.
    - ONE lucky random winner who posts their page during the challenge month by the end of month deadline and meets the criteria will receive an $8.00 coupon for Rachel's Shop here at The LilyPad!
    - Complete ALL twelve of Rachel's Mixed Media Challenges at The LilyPad in 2023 for a chance to enter her Annual Draw. The first drawn winner will be offered a three month Guest Gig on her Creative Team and the second drawn winner will receive a $20 coupon to her shop here at The LilyPad!
    - In order to be eligible for the annual drawings for the Guest Gig or the $20 coupon to Rachel's shop, you will need to do the following:
    - Complete ALL twelve of Rachel's Mixed Media Challenges at the LilyPad in 2023 by December 31, 2023 by 11:59 PM PDT. (Featured Product Challenges and Hear My Voice Challenges are excluded from the tracker and annual draw).
    - Post the challenge layout in the appropriate challenge month thread for Rachel's Jefferies Mixed Media Challenges. We will keep an accumulative list for you in each month's challenge thread to make this easier. For example: Your January Challenge layout must be posted in the January Challenge thread and linked back to the gallery --even if you complete it in November, it must still be posted in the January Thread).
    - Complete your tracker form with links to each challenge layout by December 31, 2023 by 11:59 PM PDT.
    - Note: for the annual drawings, challenge pages will be accepted for individual challenges after the actual challenge month and the end of month deadlines have both passed.

This was almost too easy! I used a template and a collage background. I desaturated the background to make sure it was neutral. Changed the accent papers and added 2 elements, and done! My accent color is the green--which is almost neutral too.

I hope I did this right. The three splashes are one flower, the heart, and the background paint.

My take on this challenge, thank you for hosting.
I desaturated a leaf on my layout as it was a little too bright and change the colour of the little heart on one of the tags as it was a peach colour.

Thank you for a fun challenge. I enjoyed creating my page, debating about keeping the big ribbon bow and the lovely, large butterfly. I figured the fuchsia shirt in the photo would draw the viewer's eye first, so that the oversized elements would not steal the show, and to calm it down a little more I painted over some of the colors in the photo. It was fun playing with color - or the lack of it - today.

Thanks for the fun challenge. Took a few months off from scrapping. Needed to do some art therapy today.

Hi Roxana, this thread is filled with gorgeous layouts. It's a fabulous challenge you gave us!
For the colorspots i went with the green found in the picture of my mother (taken in 2000).
You find it in the map (left-frame), in the butterfly (midle) and in the photo (at the right).
    Thanks for the awesome inspiration!

Hi, @trekmom ! I am not sure if it's an error or not, I can't see your layout.
