Welcome to the Rachel Jefferies September Mixed Media Challenge – A Recipe for Autumn!
In addition to art journal and mixed media art, my greatest inspiration comes from nature. Textures, colors, and patterns in botanicals and florals are especially inspiring!
For the Northern Hemisphere, the Autumn Equinox is Thursday, September 22, 2022. I adore how green grasses turn golden, how many flowering plants stop blooming yet keep awesome textures and their green color, the cooler weather, and decrease in bug life! All of this makes it so pleasant to go for a mid-day stroll. So, this month’s mixed media challenge is a Recipe for Autumn using botanicals from your Rachel Jefferies stash!
But, before I give you the recipe, let us congratulate the two $20 coupon winners from August:
$20 @Pachimac - Susie
$20 @cinderella - Cindy
And our Guest CT Member for Sept and Oct 2022 drawn at random is . . .

Congratulations, ladies!! The coupons will be set up and issued on Friday. And @Kendra - keep an eye on your inbox (Friday) for the Guest CT Invite!
Now, on to September's Challenge!
The Recipe for Autumn is to make a small cluster for your layout. Your cluster must have the following items:
1. (One) Branch or Leaf (note: branches may contain many leaves, sometimes these are labeled as dried foliage).
2. (Two) Dried Flowers (note: if you do not have dried flowers in your stash, you may use fabric or paper flowers).
3. (One) Ribbon or Bow (note: if you do not have a ribbon, you may use a fabric scrap, blade of grass, or a small piece of torn paper).
4. (One) Tag (with or without a string/fastener).
What you have on the remainder of your layout is up to you, but the small floral cluster needs to stand out! The cluster may be used as an accent to your photo or focal point. Or, if you are going photo-less the cluster may be the star of the show or accent your journaling.
Note: You may add a journal quote or word art to your small cluster; but this is not required. Please refrain from adding additional items to your small cluster. Although I was inspired by colors and textures of autumn, there is NO requirement to make an "autumn" layout; but you are welcome to!
Challenge Requirements:
* Your layout must be comprised of 100% Rachel Jefferies products; 90% must be currently available in her store. You may use up to 10% of retired products.
* You may use items from any collections of which Rachel was a part.
* Upload your layout to the Rachel Jefferies Designs Gallery at TLP and list the products used in your credits.
* For your challenge entry to be counted, you MUST upload your finished layout to this thread. Please link your thread to your gallery image as it helps us leave love on your layout (and validate your project).
* No double-dipping…your layout must be used for this challenge only, no others. You must create a new layout for this challenge.
* This challenge closes at midnight on September 30, 2022.
