HI! My sophomore son was asked to prom last night by a junior girl. Soooooo cute!!!!! This is our first time so I'm wondering what all we need to take care of. Tux, dinner, tickets, flowers??? I don't know if she's supposed to pay for anything since she asked.

Any advice from mom's of teens.

Thanks!

I think it would be lovely & gentlemanly if he was to get the tickets, but I think she probably will since she is the one who asked. Definitely yes to you taking care of the tux, dinner and the flowers though. So fun!! My freshman just went to her first 2 formal dances this year. It's both exciting and nerve-wracking. LOL Count yourself lucky that you're not dress shopping. Oy. :dizzy

At our school, a sophomore couldn't buy tickets, regardless who asked... only juniors and seniors can purchase tickets. It costs more at our school for anyone not a junior or senior at our school as well (i.e. underclassmen or students in any grade at another school). Otherwise, his tux (and she may want his to coordinate with her dress), flowers, dinner, transportation.
