I'm trying to be a bit more directed in my P365 efforts this year, so that I can stick with it. For example, I know I'll take lots of pics of my kids, but I wanted to build in 2 days a week for other shots. For example, I was thinking that every Tuesday I might take a pic of my backyard or something in my garden. I like the idea of seeing the flow of seasons through my pics. I'm trying to come up with another theme as well. Any ideas? For you P365 veterans, I would love to hear how you approached coming up with ideas throughout the year.

I love the idea of taking more pics of the Men or SOs in our lives! I know I need to take more pics of hiM!
I just realized I wont have my kids the first full week in Jan... so that will force me to take pics outside of them!
    Maybe self portrait sunday?

My goal this year is to get in the photos more with my kids. My hubby hardly ever takes the photos since I'm always doing them, but I want to be in the photos more with my family, so that's my plan! :)

I often take photos of the kids' favorite things: shoes, blanket, toys etc. It reminds me of the things they love at that moment. :)

I've also taken lots of photos of the kids' and my hairstyles and haircuts throughout the year.

This is my first attempt so I'll be following this thread for some good ideas. I had a friend who sometimes did "themes" for a week here and there. For example one week she took shots of "blue" and I remember seeing photos of her fave blue necklace, a blue flower, a fun blue hat, etc. I may dibble and dabble in something like that.

I am the same as Emily, I am planning on some more photos with me in them this year.

I also got a small point and shoot camera to fit in my handbag to get more everyday photos because lugging my camera everywhere was a downfall last year.

Oh! One idea I heard was to take a photo of you/your child/pet on their birth date...like My bday is July 7 so on the 7th of every month I could take a picture of myself.

Here are a few other ideas from another site. :)
    Themes for the Months
-Pick one theme every month and use it to center your photos around. (Ex: February - things you love, June - things that represent summer, etc.)
-Pick a different color every month and focus on how to capture that color in your everyday life
-Photography - practice a different skill every month to improve your picture taking skills (Rule of Thirds, Black and White, Natural Light, etc.)

You could pick on word as your theme for that month and take a photo everyday that represents it.
-Use the One Word Challenge idea as a starting point. Pick one word a month and find photos of your life that represent that word....think outside the box.
Here's a little list I compiled while checking out different 365 blogs...
-Beginning (your breakfast, the alarm clock when you wake up)
-Ending (a child sleeping, your fav TV show's last season)
-Change (pennies, a new haircut, construction in your town)
-Sport (watching the big game, a little league game)
-Tacky (those socks you love that don't match anything, the neighbor's flamingo lawn ornament)
-Messy (dishes in the sink, laundry day)
-Organized (your pantry with cans all in line, shoes by the front door)
-Food (grocery store trip, dinner, take out menus)
-Nature (outside your home, a local park)
-Clothing (a new outfit, what your kids picked out to wear themselves)
-Challenge (homework, a long line at the DMV)
-Fragrance (candles, baby's lotions and powders, a local bakery)
-Travel (where you went, travel brochures where you want to go)

    the possibilities are endless!!!

Crystal, omgosh, girl!! Thank you SO much. I love all of these ideas. Emily, I also think that taking pics of favorite items will really add to the story that I am hoping to tell in my P365.

have you seen this new blog by nie nie?
    it's SO INTERESTING......
    http://nieandyou.blogspot.com/2009/12/plan.html
i love the idea of taking pictures of your morning.
and somebody across the world is doing the exact same thing.
then you compare and see how your mornings are similar and how they differ.
i'm not sure exactly which direction this blog is going to go.
but i'm hoping to be inspired for some of my p365 pics.

i definitely need to branch out..
or my kid will be SICK of me following them around day to day.
