okay a little background. Basically I suck as being the tooth fairy! In fact in my old home forum (sob sob) there were regular threads about the 'Adventures of Stupip the Tooth Fairy' (yes it's stupip - house joke).

So AGAIN Stupip the tooth fairy forgot to put a coin under the pillow. DOH
Luckily this time there was no tooth (no idea where or when it fell out) so I was able to stick the coin under her quilt further down the bed! When we went in to check that it wasn't under the pillow it was easily found and I have a happy girl!! lol
Usually I completely forget and they wake up to find the tooth still there in the morning! Now that is not so easy to fix! lol :groan

i always forget too.
luckily my kids are getting older
and don't really care anymore about the tooth fairy.
LOL
i can just hand them a buck and they're happy.
however, jenna (my youngest) has yet to loose any teeth.
and she is our baby.
so i'm sure we'll make the tooth fairy a big deal for her.
HAAAAAAA
how is that for being fair?

lol!! Well there are such cute kits to scrap the tooth fairy now...so it's worth making a big deal over! :giggle

lol i can sympathise i to once forgot to take the tooth but i did leave the money lol,and my son was amazed and said that the tooth fairy was silly for leaving the tooth and that he was going to leave the tooth again the next night,my youngest we forgot to put the money under so my husband crept in early morning to put it under and he caught him red handed so he tells me there is no tooth fairy but he dont argue with me when the money goes underneith

Mine are too young to lose teeth yet.

Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to it just so I can scrap it?!

I'm sure I'll be forgetful too, I'm terrible with all that sort of stuff. I fully intended to make a potty training chart for my littlest. I have two ellie packs to choose from to make it super cute, but I forgot and she now appears to be pretty much trained... Oh, well.

I always panic that I will forget - my DD lost 6 teeth in the space of about 41/2 months so I was on constant alert for weeks! :lol I haven't forgotten as yet, but I did leave myself a note on my bedside table (in code, just in case!) that reminded me once or twice!

I have forgotten a couple of times too. Over here, we put the tooth in a glass of water on the bedside table, and then the tooth is supposed to be swappped for a coin during the night - so it's not so easy to sneak it in later if I forget. I have told Kaja that the toothfairy is really busy, and that sometimes a lot of children lose their teeth on the same day, so sometimes it will take an extra day before she has time to come.

I know - bad mommy award. I'll add it to my collection;)

OMG I am so glad I'm not the only bad tooth fairy!! Not so good for your kids but it makes me feel better! lol

My little guy is still too young, but he is getting close. I know I will be forgetting to do it too! I am terrible at that kind of stuff.

So what is the going rate for teeth these days?

That has so happened to me several times. The tooth fairy is so not reliable at our house, lol. My kids get a dollar...or nothing, lol.

lol! My kids get $2...except for the time the tooth fairy really badly forgot and had to come the next day so she gave $3 I think!

Surely the going rate is whatever I find in my purse ...

So probably 8p and a button that fell off last week in my case.

Does the tooth fairy do paypal?

The tooth fairy that visits us brings £1. I am trying my hardest to make sure that DD doesn't find out about the tooth fairy who visits her friend's house who brings £5 a tooth.... Our tooth fairy is pretty miserly!

Our toothfairy gives 3.41088 U.S. dollars according to google. I think that's the standard rate around here.

the tooth fairy actually had a small doll for Moo when she lost her second tooth in as many days, hidden under my car seat... and the little snot found it! played it all off as the tooth fairy knew she'd be in the car blah blah blah.... she believed me!

our tooth fairy leaves the kids short notes with their cash (roughly $2)....but a short conversation between dh and ds1:

DH: do you believe in Santa?

ds1: yes, he's real!

DH: how about the tooth fairy?

ds1: yes, but maybe she's not real...

DH: why do you say that?

ds1: because sometimes her handwriting looks like yours!

LOL! :giggle
