And I need your help. :helpy
Our little mut has a strange (annoying) habit. He goes to all of our doors and licks, foam, drolls for.e.ever. Until we let him in. He has now taken to licking our windows (they are very low windows). :drool
If he is not in someone's lap he sucks on he leg too.
We got him as a rescue.

Any suggestions?

Poor pup! He's probably got some sort of anxiety issues. I hope those articles Kaye suggested help. Good luck!

My best friends dog actually licked a wound onto her own leg and her own hip. They had to resort to putting her in an e-collar for a month to try to stop it. Also, there is a spray that tastes AWFUL that you can get and spray on them to make it taste so bad they don't want to lick it. Not sure if you could use on windows. Perhaps ask your vet.

Ahhhh... poor puppers! I so hope you figure it out.

Maybe I should try some of those tips with Penny! She licks everything and anyone. It's especially annoying when we're out for a walk in the summer and she will go up to random people and lick their feet or legs! Gross!!!!! She will also just sit in the middle of the room and it looks like she's licking the air. I have to get that on video sometime!

We have used bitter apple spray in the past for pet training. It's non-toxic, but they hate HATE the taste of it. May work. Although it only really addresses the behavior rather than the reason for it. Maybe as the new behavior is learned, your pup will also start to realize your home is a safe and secure place, and will stop feeling the need to do that... ???

hmmmm... all of a sudden i sorta sound like a doggy psychologist :giggl

I second the bitter apple. :) I had to spray it all over Kennedy's fisher price people so the dogs would leave them alone.

My dog licks the couch. I never thought of it as an anxiety issue. I just thought she was weird. Now I'm going to have to re-think that. :crazy3 Hmmm.
