Hello Pad Scrappers and welcome to our October challenges! This month I am hosting the Random Challenge and we're going to play with fonts and colour! Sometimes when I have a big block of journaling, I want to jazz it up a bit and a fun way to do this is to play with different fonts and different colours. Having a mix of fonts using a standard font for most of the journaling but adding in some fun fonts to highlight key parts of the text can have a huge impact. Here I used a mix of serif and sans serif fonts, some of which came with my computer, but some I downloaded from the various free font sites on the internet. Here is my page for a little inspiration: Credits in the gallery including full list of fonts. And here are the challenge requirements: Use at least 3 different fonts to write your journaling. Use at least 3 different colours in your journaling. As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the October Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I can't wait to see what you create!
Thanks for this great challenge. Here's my LO. I used darker colors for my fonts. Top edge of the frame/LO-black font Journaling on the piece of paper layered under photo-dark red Journaling along the right side-blue Phrase at the bottom to the left of the floor, some weird shade of brown.
I love the idea of different colors in journaling. Thx for the inspiration and hosting this challenge.
Mooahaahahaha!!!!! Like that would ever happen to me....Big block of journaling! I admire you who manage to pull off all that journaling but I am so not a journaler Is it OK to use lyrics for this????
I feared 3 different fonts, but then I added word bits, word art, and 5 fonts. It took a life of its own as usual.
I used the colors red, dark blue and deep tan in addition to black on the journaling. The fonts on the layout include: Century Gothic, Broadway, Bernard MT condensed and Lucinda Sans Typewriter.
My horror story about banks, and bureaucracy, and taxes. Writing it down didn't solve it, but rant about it it's great catharsis.
