Hi Everyone! Hoping you are all doing really well this month! October - only 3 months really until the end of this crazy year! I hate wishing my days away, but this year is a little different! I don't wish it away totally, but I wish for a little calm, and no more surprises. This was a year of EXTREMES! I think you might agree! So, we are going to use this for our challenge this month! I would like you to take a word pair - antonyms, if you will - and show them in your photo on your page. When I say word pair, I mean like the following: backward/forward, big/small, dangerous/safe, early/late, happy/sad, fade/brighten, etc. Your word pair can be any set of antonyms you choose. You can use a thesaurus, and that will also usually show you the antonyms too. For this challenge, your photo (or photos) must represent your Antonym Word Pair. Please tell me your word pair when posting your layout. Here is my layout, and my word pair is Giant/Tiny. My son at a recent waterfall we visited near Lake George, NY. He looked so tiny in my photo, and it really made the waterfall look so big, plus I didn't even get the whole waterfall in my photo! Can't wait to see what you pick and create! As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the October Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
My husband and I started going walking each day at 5pm and I always take my camera with me so I might just keep my eye out for something to fit this challenge.
you know what they say, there is one in every crowd. I'm being "that" one this time. LOL. I kept it neutral and kept my personal views out but did think this antonym was appropriate for current U.S. climate.
I LOVE your sample page!! Here is mine. Pretty obvious. Summer & Winter Up here they are extremes: +33 to -33 degrees
My word pairing is Winners and Losers. We are quite competitive in this house when it comes to playing any kind of game but Scrabble is my thing.
Thanks for the great challenge, Jenn. I had to think about this for awhile, then decided to scrap "Up and Down". This is the hill that I walk up and down every day. It doesn't look very steep, but it is. I try to walk a little further each day.
I was thinking about this challenge and how a Bruce Springsteen song fits this emotionally, the words are love and fear. I'm assuming most people know the story of the boy who asks his grandfather about inner turmoil and having two wolves in him, which wolf will win? The one you feed. This character in the Springsteen has the same inner turmoil. I know this doesn't count as I've already done one.
